Vernon Adams picks Oregon

Ewu had zero fu*king defense last year and lost their "best" CB and LB

They lose Adams, Hill, Forte and Brown.....not to mention the only decent OL they got from UDUB.

Yeah they are a lock for winning the BSC

Losing Adams and Forte is obviously huge, but I'm not really that worried about the offense. Plenty of playmakers out there and either West or Hennessey will do fine.

The defense is where improvement is needed. As we've seen the past 3 years, it doesn't matter if you have a QB who can throw 7 TD's in a game if your D can't stop anyone. We had anywhere from 8-9 Freshman playing on the D last season, so that unit will improve. We don't lose any CB's - I think you're probably thinking of McDonald, the UCLA transfer FS. Agreed on the LB's.

Eastern will be good next year, maybe even compete for a conference title again, but right now I'd put MSU as the early favorite. I don't know how much rebuilding they have to do overall, but Prukop is a baller.

I also think CP is a strong contender.

MSU, then in no particular order CP, EWU, and Montana. I'd expect there to be some suprise upsets as usual, but right now I'm not seeing anything outside the usual suspects that would make me think that someone other than what I listed will challenge. NAU could be decent, guess we'll see.

See, now ya did it. You're proving that there is intelligent life in Cheney.

Wait till you see UND this year. They're building something over there. They're not there yet, but their lines are pretty good.

The Big Sky is WIDE open next year.

CP will be good but with their schedule I doubt they win the conference

MSU has talent but continues to crap the bed down the stretch year in year out, its almost expected.

That leaves UM/EWU. Probably depends who gets better QB play...I like both of Eastern's QB's coming in, but also like Chalich for the Griz, should be a great battle. Still think the EWU/UM game in Missoula decides the conference title...

Obviously these fools never played the game.

1- Hill will be a senior next year…

2- Evan day will most likely get a hardship and be eligible next year, which will be huge for the defense

3 - Eastern is loaded at running back with Moore and Wilson

4- easterns defense sucked last year, but Baldwin just Replaced their defensive Cordinator,
they will improve…

Replacing Adams will be difficult, but Eastern is still going to be damn good next year
I will give you one and two but not the rest.

Your running backs need to prove it on the field not on paper.

Your defense is one of the worst I have ever seen outside of highschool ball. You need more talent and the coaching change is a start but it isn't going to get fixed over night.

You guys are top 5 at best

Fair enough, no disputing our D sucks. Hopefully the New coordinator will step up the game.

Wilson and Moore will be good, they had a combined 130 carries this year with 10 TD's, they will be really good the next two years.

Will be interesting how this shakes out, lot of question marks for both EWU and UM going into the year...

MSU is an Ewu clone, some offense and less than zero D.

MSU had to sign 54 juco transfers just to field a defense this season.

Maybe someone on this board can give me the definition of "fail" as it applies to Adams at the U of O ?? A nat'l title? Doubtful. A conference title? Unlikely. I keep hearing how SC has had another banner recruiting year, but they are still losing "big" games. (as it relates to where the program is right now). If he starts and wins 80% of his games I would call it successful. Personally, I'm glad VA and his lob passes are gone. I never felt we had a "snowball" chance in hell the last 3 games vs VA. I'm wondering how many times we had the lead last year vs VA ? If at all? Personally I wouldn't piss on the Ducks if they were on fire. I do hope the kid does well for the sake of the BSC... :egriz:

He sure as hell wasn't referring to the last 30.

He was right, last 3 and maybe last 2 games. We beat ourselves in first game and then coaching cost us the 2nd game. Remember you went up against Delaney in all those games. Game time adjustments were not his strength, especially the first 2 years.

IMO, Fail = going to UO, either not winning the starting job, winning it and struggling (for any reason), or winning the starting job, and getting hurt and not playing in >50% of the games.

I won't fight you on any of those points. He'll need to adopt the "Russell Wilson" slide feet first technique before contact. Assuming, he's planning on lasting the season... :egriz:

I actually have wondered about the percentage of regular posters who have played a down of HS or higher football. It has to be over 75%, no?

Ironic that Baldwin is upset that Oregon was not prepared for the loss of Mariota, Yet EWU/ Baldwin take a Levi Mitchell as a dropdown xfr because they were not prepared at that time.

The purpose of this post is twofold:

1- to kill the longest thread that I have ever personally started, and . . .

2- for those of you who might still have a mild curiosity about - and an interest in - the Vernon Adams saga, follow this link for a "discussion" that is for the birds.
