Vernon Adams picks Oregon

EWU is still the preseason favorite. Not saying that's how it will shake out. With the fact MSU and EWU's game isn't a conference game, and Montana gets the Eags at home, I'd say the Cats and Griz could end up playing for the Big Sky title in Bozeman. But preseason favorite, the coaches and media will still vote Eastern No. 1 at the summer kickoff in Park City. BOOK IT. The fans don't get a vote in either of those polls.

I don't really care, but whether you want it to or not, MSU will be the favorite.

I say this fully believing MSU will be very good: I don't see either the coaches or the writers picking them to win.

Hypothetically speaking, if someone like Chalich thought that he wasn't going to be the starter after spring ball, would he be able to transfer to EWU in the fall and compete for their starting spot?

Should be interesting for certain. My guess is Chad wouldn't have decided to come to U of M in the first place if he wasn't pretty confident he could win the starting position this season.

I'm not saying he will but I have a funny feeling he thinks he can do it. If he wanted to sit on the bench it's likely he'd still be with the Vandals.

I'd say given MSU' s lousy defense, on paper just lousy on paper, and last year. But only lousy on paper and last year, they could really be spectacular. Given that and Montana's new staff and last season's results, I would have to say Idaho State as media day darling.

Arias graduated and the OC is going to Hawaii.

Yup, ISU definitely will NOT be picked to win the league by coaches or media. Not going to happen. Here's my preseason poll guess. Like I said, LTCF, like it or not, in Park City, EWU will still get the official nod. Just the way it is.

1. EWU
2. MSU
3. UM
4. Cal Poly
5. Idaho State

With Adams leaving, think about how HUGE it is that we stole Pflug from them.

If he's as good as people think, he might have gotten looks as Eastern's starter this next year.

EWU will be really good next year, even without Adams. Two really good QB's on the roster, both of whom can throw the jump ball...

I do think the EWU/UM game in Missoula next year probably decides the Big Sky...

Just curious why you have UM ahead of Cal Poly? We return 10 starters on a very good offense including our QB. Cal Poly beat Montana by 20 last season and Montana losses their head coach and starting QB.

Yep and that pony ran all over the Griz and the rest of the Big Sky. In fact they led the FCS in rushing and set the Big Sky record for both rushing yards and rushing TDs. At least it is a real good trick.
