Vernon Adams picks Oregon

This news has now made MSU the favorites to win the Big Sky according to those over on bobcatnation. Their annual unfounded preseason optimism is so f-ing cute. I wish I lived in such a delusional world that I could make myself truly believe things like this.
They think the season ends after 8 games.

Ignorance is bliss, and hilarious in the kitties case.

It's logical. But that doesn't mean anything.

Eastern are still favorites. About 4 teams capable of winning it including MSU, MSU aren't ahead of the teams capable of winning it.

Logically, MSU is the favorite over EWU due to Adams leaving. Now in reality MSU most likely won't win as we'll probably see the November meltdown just like every year.

That's what I'm trying to say without saying it.

MSU will still be looking for a defense.

That sounds like the Official EWU response. Baldwin at least mentions him then moves on. The AD just sounds pissed....

This is not Griz related and should be moved to the shitpile where it belongs, because in all honesty nobody gives a fu*k where he goes.

The fact you guys are talking about it shows how far Montana has slipped, I think somebody else said that awhile back, walkoff HR.......................:coffee:

From "nobody gives a fu*k where he goes" to you "guys are talking about it" in the same breath...well, I say make up your fu*king mind? Obviously folks are intrigued by a move up instead of the all too familiar ho-hum drop down. Expect the The VA Watch to be in full throttle mode come September... deal with it. :coffee:

So what would make them the favorites on paper exactly? Their mediocre record from last season? Their early home playoff loss? Their daunting returning defense? The new co-defensive coordinator, who isn't actually new? Don't get me wrong, I think the Cats will have a solid team, but when it comes to a preseason favorite it's Eastern even with the loss of Adams. It's pretty simple. I just don't see the big changes that would give cat fans such optimism, I don't get it.

Chaves appears to have an issue with a rule when he belives it benefits another school, but when the rules benefit ewu (ie. prop 48 and FBS drop down rules) he has no problems.

When was the last time you heard of a 'Drop Up" to one of the premier programs in the nation?
I'm guessing never. I wish him well, it should be interesting.

I am a little disappointed we won't play against him this year though.

Good luck VA!

Wouldn't be ironic if VA grades faltered and he could not graduate in the spring, could not transfer, could not even play for the Eags either! By teading there AD comment VA pissed in his corn flakes.. Ohhhh sorry Vernon I know you wanted to graduate but......

That's why he's a small college AD.
