Not the story I got. If you're correct, however, I have a new found respect for the Missoulian. The paper might have unwittingly done UM a huge favor.

I hadn't spoken to a single Griz fan who was excited for Baldwin before he bombed the sit down, and I cannot imagine how anyone would be excited about him after seeing how he dealt with the Shoota transfer. Sorry, dude, he just doesn't seem ready for the big time. There's more to it than Xs and Os and Prop 48s. I have no doubt that he will learn from this a make a fine leader someday.

That pretty much sums up the story I heard. But it appears some EWU fans seem to think Baldwin would actually choose to stay at EWU rather than coach the Griz. EWU guys, read that statement twice, slowly. Now, compare it to the following:

I understand the fascination egriz has with the EAGS. When a program like EWU with a fraction of the resources (i.e., big, egocentric donors) competes with and recently owns both Montana universities, then I guess it kinda gets into the griz psyche. Don’t be afraid of the insecurities this produces. Just realize that you (UM) must share the limelight. It’s OK, just let go of the elitist attitude.

What you fail to understand is that EWU provided me with the education that allowed me to pick many graduate programs across the nation. In fact my degree from EWU and subsequent GRE scores were above what UM (and many other universities) required for Ph.D. programs. So, quit with your elitist bullshit because my undergraduate education at EWU was good enough to get me into a doctoral program at UM. I am an EWU alumnus that will always support EWU. So, when I decide to post on egriz, remember that I chose EWU over UM.
