UM Griz vs. Weber St. BSC Tourney 2nd Round

Amazing. They certainly showed some glimpses of what they can do. Mack was certainly the MVP tonight and put the exclamation point in it with that block at the end. I hope he has shown the coaching staff that they can trust him and not bury him next year behind some transfer.

It's probably too much to ask for this team to go out and take down EWU but if there is any time to do it, the best chance will be tomorrow!

Go Griz! Keep it rolling!

Spot on. I think Weebs actually has the most talent in the league (Eastern still a better Team). Also think Travis used a different sub pattern for defensive reasons. They held Brown down big time. Good W over a good and talented team.

Not a single mention of Eddy Egun in this entire thread? He won us that game plain and simple. Common theme in those runs was Eddy making big defensive plays. The blocked 3. Ripping the big. Sending Jones into next week. 2 words: GLUE guy

His D was good, but would you like me to mention his rebound with time running down where he immediately handed the ball back to Weber and they made a shot? That was almost disastrous.

To be fair our other guards did the same a few times. Eddy had some key plays for sure, a lot of guys came up with timely plays all game long on both ends. Who would have taken the good guys with 19 TOs. Not me.

If you just looked at the statistics, we dominated this game. The final score shows something very different.

That's true. The only reason weber wound up close in that game, based on stats, was because we fouled a lot more and turned the ball over more. Basically we gifted them 10-15 points right there.

I actually listened to the last five min of this game. No wonder many are apoplectic by games end.
How about you don’t listen in tomorrow then since it was going great before you got on

I can say it now, when Weber was on the comeback trail near the end I started to think they were about to have the answer to our Anthony Johnson game...

Yeah, however the 19(!) Griz turnovers allowed Weber to hang around for longer, then missed 4 free throws in a row late (one was a 1&1) that had the potential to stretch out the lead. Keeping the number 2(?) team at shooting 3s in the country to only 30ish percent helped the Griz seal the deal.

Whitney and beasley I believe have a chance at
Being a special backcourt duo. Those two
Are going to wreck havoc on this league the next 3 years!

 Seems like whenever I get a chance to watch a Griz game, they start losing a lead, so I quickly stop watching! Talk about superstitious, but don't want to jinx the team.

Did Beasley clarify to you after the interview that he actually meant Medal instead of metal when he said, "Pedal to the Medal"? :thumb:

Travis has Randy’s number. That’s gotta be a bummer for Randy. Which of course makes it very enjoyable for this Griz fan.

Don't want to be negative Nancy but I said to myself - NO WAY we get a shot off at the end of the half & well you know what happened!

Mack was awesome. Beasley was incredible. I have to remind myself he’s just a freshman because he can play like a man possessed at times.

Beasley had 23! 8-12 shooting, 4-7 from 3. Incredible.
Beas was clearly the highlight. :thumb:

But let's not overlook the fact that the Griz had four guys in double figures, including Parker coming off the bench. Good to have that balance.

"We have very similar systems and sometimes, our strengths are our weaknesses and our weaknesses are our strengths. You become very familiar with one another,” DeCuire said. “We are both part of the same coaching tree and I have a lot of respect for what Randy (Rahe) has done. There’s a reason he’s the all-time winningiest coach in the Big Sky."

Where does Randy connect into the Griz Coaching Tree?
