UM Griz vs. Weber St. BSC Tourney 2nd Round

Suddenly griz fans love coaches calling late timeouts away from the play. ;)

Good win. Like that Bannon kid. Feel like he’s going to annoy me the next few years.

Here’s hoping for Cat griz Saturday night. We deserve it. :thumb:

Wouldn’t that be awesome, given that those games were cancelled earlier in the season....

Not a single mention of Eddy Egun in this entire thread? He won us that game plain and simple. Common theme in those runs was Eddy making big defensive plays. The blocked 3. Ripping the big. Sending Jones into next week. 2 words: GLUE guy

Amazing. They certainly showed some glimpses of what they can do. Mack was certainly the MVP tonight and put the exclamation point in it with that block at the end. I hope he has shown the coaching staff that they can trust him and not bury him next year behind some transfer.

It's probably too much to ask for this team to go out and take down EWU but if there is any time to do it, the best chance will be tomorrow!

Go Griz! Keep it rolling!

I called it in the other thread that the Griz would play great and win tonight. This is a battle teated team who can beat anyone on in the right night. They definitely aren’t “just a 6 seed”. I will let you borrow my maroon color glasses Grizindabox...maybe they’ll put a smile on your grumpy ass.

Mack was the difference tonight. If he can just get consistent and have games like this night in night out, we wi 'll be very very good next year!

His D was good, but would you like me to mention his rebound with time running down where he immediately handed the ball back to Weber and they made a shot? That was almost disastrous.

Mack was awesome. Beasley was incredible. I have to remind myself he’s just a freshman because he can play like a man possessed at times.

Beasley had 23! 8-12 shooting, 4-7 from 3. Incredible.

Hooked got his panties in a bunch. All I said is there is no reason for other teams to "fear" the Griz, and I stand by that. I did say that other teams must respect the Griz. Wonder if EWU will respect Mack?

A win is a win, but watching this team continually give away 14-15 point leads in the last 5 minutes is heartbreaking.

Nothing has come easy for these guys all year, should be used to it. :D I thought about relaxing up 15, but.....nah.

We wouldn’t have even been in that situation without him. Had it been disastrous, yes I would look at it different. But it wasn’t. Also, we missed too many late FTs.

Missed the front end of 1 and 1's, but still shot over 70% for the game.

Naaa all good. I just think you seem pretty grumpy or negative 99.9% of the time. I’m convinced if we won this tourney, the first thing you’d say is “oh well we will just get bounced out badly first round”.

I don’t think we match up well with EWU however and that would be a huge upset to beat them. I’m hoping though!

Color me embarrassed. After last nights game against the worst team in the conference I predicted a 15 point Weber win.
Not only did the coaches call a great game but hats off to the players, especially Mac Anderson for executing a the game plan. It did get a little hairy down the stretch especially the missed free throws but the guys were exhausted as they missed four free throws in a row.
One significant stat and I don’t have the numbers in front of me was Owens and Vasquez did not score many points but they contributed defensively. Tonight it was the Anderson Beasley show.
Congratulations guys, 2 down two to go.

If you just looked at the statistics, we dominated this game. The final score shows something very different.
