Two Deep List for Game 1

Bergen not starting? Sounds like blasphemy.
Hear me now, believe me later. I posted two weeks ago that White will start at the slot receiver. I was also wrong though because I said Fontes or Simpson would be ahead of Malik. Interesting to see Graves over Cotton and Tirrell over Flink.
No Travillion, Ver Strate, Hustedt, Ramos, or Racanelli? It'll be interesting to see how they are utilised.

As the saying goes, there is the asking price and there is the selling price.
Don't think there is an NCAA rule that states you must start with your listed starters so we shall see. If we score early and often then I could see lots of guys getting playtime!!

Why would anyone ever believe a depth chart that BH puts out? Why? I don’t even look a the starting lineups he posts - because they are rubbish.

White has looked terrific in practice, catching everything. Bergen is the starting punt returner and KO returner (with Flowers).

Graves and Cotton play different positions. Cotton is the 5th d-back, and listed as "Or" with Fouch.

Ramos, the kicker, is listed as the starter.

Who do you think is a fake starter? That is 100% our starters besides Knight when he’s healthy.

Cotton does usually play nickel but it wouldn't have been unheard of him moving to strong. The Montana Grizzlies football team currently have TWO players named Ramos, while it is true one is a kicker, the other is a highly regarded recruit from Colorado named Jareb Ramos who plays defensive line. It was the second Ramos I was referring to.

Unless the injury bug hits, I'd be surprised to see Ramos, a true Frosh DL, get much time. I thought other posts mentioned that Racanelli had a significant knee injury in the spring and probably wouldn't play this fall. The other guys you mentioned might see some time as they become more familiar with the schemes.

Ramos is a true frosh but with Todd moving back to D End, I believe Ramos is 3rd in the depth chart of only 3 nose guards. He’s also put on about 20 pounds since his reported weight on signing day up to 283. I’d expect him to play and burn his RS but he certainly won’t play ahead of now 3 year starter Gubner and Sr Alford unless he just flat-out outperforms.

WG4L - I am not trying to be a smart ass. I seriously don’t event look at the lineup because Hauck is a master of deception, deflection and providing a lack of information. That depth chart could be 100% accurate, but I am not the guy to ask. I will see who lines up when the whistle blows. Will be interesting to watch, until then prognosticate away. Just not my jam. Others love guessing and looking at who is where. I think there will be several surprises and quite a lot of movement over the first 3 games.

Thank you for the information about Racanelli. Wasn't aware of that or forgot I'd read it.

When did Todd ever play anything other than D-End?

White had the best spring camp of the WRs (from this fan's perspective).

White, before his injury last season, was starting to cement himself as the #3 WR behind Roberts/Akem because he could play all over the field, block well, ran great routes, and had good hands.

His fall was good, but it was overshadowed by fan/media reactions to the growth of Fontes and Bergen getting work in the slot. Fans should be rightfully excited about these two players, not saying they shouldn't be.

I said this on the GFP, I think White is going to become the breakout star on offense this year. He's poised for it. He's maybe the most versatile guy in the WR room at the moment. I love what I see from this kid.

Todd was always a DE. My guess is there's a bit of confusion caused by the 3-man front at times and people think he's a DT b/c he's got O'Connell lined up along side him.

Interesting, I would have sworn I saw him participating in the practice I went to a couple weeks ago. I guess not???

Are you sure? I was pretty sure I seen him line up in between both ends sometimes last year.

No, you never seen him do that. He always played end. Right end.

My bad, thanks for the clarification. So did we have a #3 nose last year then?
