TV for Eastern

I seem to have it today - live pool! I'll have to try later in the week and see if the FCS games show up.

I may get game plan for Saturday anyway as its a better quality picture than streaming tv.
am wondering the same thing.....this is strange though, if Charter lets us stream it on a PC why don't they also include all of this on the TV package that I have....? I do have a new smart TV so will try it on that.

because ESPN3 is not part of any TV package, it is part of an Internet Package...it is a streaming channel

Not much access to anything with Centurylink. Worst company ever. Try goADT.Net. I watched the SD game and it was pretty good. Don't download anything there.

Last week both games were on Charter Pay per view but I don't see the Montana/EWU game listed, wonder if that is yet to come or if it is not on PPV this week.

I'd much rather the game be on Root, but ESPN3 isn't that bad. All it takes is an HDMI cord and you can put it on a TV/monitor. Not exactly rocket science...

This. I haven't been understanding what all the trouble is getting what's on your PC/laptop monitor onto your TV screen. Its actually pretty simple, and the only questions that need to be asked are what outputs you have on the laptop, and what inputs you have on the TV.

If you don't already have one, upgrade your TV- just about anything you buy will have HDMI inputs. Most if not all laptops do as well. That's ALL it takes! HDMI is a medium that carries both video and sound simultaneously. Boom- done...

Even if you don't have HDMI in/outputs, you should have VGA in/outputs. I was doing this with VGA back in 2002 or before. The only difference, other than some video quality, is that VGA is video only-but there are several solutions for that: crank the speaks on the lapper; use RCA from the PC to the TV; connect external speakers to the laptop/PC.

I have actually moved to a smart TV complete w built-in wireless adapter AND browser. The browser's a bit clunky, but if you can get it to the ESPN3 site and get logged in, you're done. No wires, nothing. The TV communicates directly with your wireless router, or ethernet to the TV from the router if it's nearby. You just have to connect the adapter in the TV to the router one way or the other.

Fact is, there are several solutions available. If you don't want to try to get fancy and you can afford it, make sure both your TV and your laptop are both HDMI capable and you're done. This is the way we'll be increasingly accessing our sports and other content going forward, so just make the investment now and be done with it. Perfect timing too--you can pass it off as an early Christmas gift for the WHOLE fam! :thumb:

best explanation to date..........thanks cfallsgriz

i get espn3 on my computer but cannot get it through the tv using roku in cda because frontier communications does not have this agreement with them yet.
my computer is several years old and does not have an HDMI connection, to take your advice.

i am moving to big sky, mt next week and will be getting 3 rivers internet provider which supports the roku connection so i will be in luck for future espn3 games to view on tv.

all of the FCS playoff games are on espn3 saturday.....will be using the 4 screen option for the earlier games

You can't get it free from ESPN3.com with your @charter.net user name???

Old computer... I assume it has a USB??? I had the same problem, and got a USB/HDMI Pc to TV Adapter at Radio Shack, brand is Auvio... Cost $45 I think... It worked fine, but my old laptop got real hot and shut down, so I didn't get too far...

I had to try, watching on the laptop is painful to me... Maybe it will work for you

I watched both Griz and Cat games through the ESPN website (watch espn link). I have a subscription to espn magazine which includes Insider on the website. I think that's why I got it as I've tried going through my Charter tv platform to no avail. I connected my PC to my Samsung with an HDMI cable and both games came in great the whole time.

I am having a watch party this weekend so I might just get the whole day's games on Gameplan so I can easily pause, rewind, and switch back and forth.

Has Gameplan evolved to show HD on all its channels? Last time I bought it was for the game down in Boone a couple years back.

Everything will go completely bonkers when the cameras focus on that horrible red field.

ESPN3 is not linked to Charter TV it is linked to their internet ISP, thus if you do not have their internet service here in MT you will not get access to it. ESPN3 is Internet streaming.

And second NO Gameplan is still in SD.

Might have to bury the Gameplan idea then.

Use a fan to cool your laptop. Try setting up the laptop so the base is not sitting flat on a surface. Then set the fan up so it blows across the bottom of the lap top. has worked for me in the past.

I am a directtv customer in Vermont that purchased gameplan at the beginning of the year for either the Wyoming or the ndsu game I can't remember. I am getting a little nervous because I am not seeing the game listed on the gameplan channels listed on my directtv or on espn's website. Are we sure that it is going to be on gameplan?
Thanks,

ESPN 3 worked great from my phone to my chromecast on my tv. Full 1080p. If you don't have access I still have some extra espn3 accounts.

I chatted with Dish network this AM(as their schedule for GamePlan shows the schedule for November 29). They told me "check back on Friday". I have to work Saturday (as I did last week). Last week I streamed the game on DISH Anywhere and it worked swell as my family was watching at home on GamePlan. I also just got off the phone with Charter as I actually do get ESPN3 on my home internet. I have not been able to get ESPNgo on my cell phone to work...and I was told my the agent that is "just how it is."

I am hopeful that ESPN will come through and show it on GamePlan, but no guarantees right now.

Initially I was planning on just making it easy and ordering the GamePlan for the weekend. However, last night I fired up my laptop, got ESPN3 to work via my Charter internet and plugged it into my large HD TV via an HDMI cord. Picture quality was great, sound was great, and it didnt seem to be pausing at all as I watched several basketball games on it. Like others I could not get the game replays to pull up, but with the success I had last night ESPN3 is the route Im going to go with on Saturday.

ESPN usually doesn't release the schedule for Gameplan till either late Tuesday night or Wednesday night. I believe we should probably know if it is going to be a go by later today or tomorrow morning.
