Nope, sorry I can't agree. It apparently came after his pick of Andrew Luck in the end zone. Have actually never heard of a throat slash. Sorry, not a big crime. Has absolutely nothing to do with class. Should be left up to Tru to decide whether it was worth it.

The "throat slash" gesture was banned back in the late 90s. There were a ton of players that did that the season they banned it including Brett Favre and countless other QBs, WRs, RBs, defensive players, etc.

Still happens of course from time to time (not really a big deal) and results in a fine. Not exactly a major crime.

Throat slashing has been banned from the NFL for 10 or 15 years, pretty rare anymore for anybody to do it because it's always a fine and gets bad press, the NBA didn't crack down on it as hard but they have lately, Kevin Durant got fined 25,000 this spring for it. They consider it a "menacing act of violence"...understandably something they don't want to see players acting out.
