Let's go back to this again, innocent until proven guilty. Sorry, but I have little faith in the Zoo's PD. Let them sue themselves back to the stone age.
I agree, it's those damn donut eating cops in Missoula. I am sure Tru is being setup!

Not to change the subject but the MPD are fairly inept in doing anything other than issuing traffic tickets.

As are most cops in any city in America....
Doing shift work is tough on people and to put up with the crap a cop has to deal with, it's no wonder that some of the biggest buffoons around are cops. I think i'll keep my job washing dishes in a greasy spoon.

Respect as a human being that doesn't put others in danger while behind the wheel.

So anyone that ever gets a DUI is less than human? Gotcha.

Since this site doesn't have a spoiler: Anyone that makes a mistake should be sent to a lifetime of hard labor in Siberia
I never said that. The question was asked "what does he have to lose." I said "Respect." I'm sorry that is tough to understand since I left the comma out before 'respect.'

I like to ride my bicycle, I like to ride my bike......

So you will lose all respect from your brother/aunt/son/etc... if one of them have one too many glasses of wine with dinner and get pulled over for not signaling and end up with a DUI?
I wouldn't go so broad with "all," but yeah, I would. The same I would with myself if I got one. I'm no better than anyone else.
Kind of a heavy topic, hard to discuss via an internet forum, and I apologize if I came off harsh, but I don't think a DUI should be brushed aside as a no biggie, it happens kinda deal. My parents were pushed into an intersection by a drunk driver, I know people who've killed people while driving drunk. I don't want to make any sweeping declarations, I just felt that PR saying "what's he got to lose with a DUI citation" rubbed me the wrong way. Sorry. :|

No need to apologize, Op. You raised some valid points. It was just PR doing his lawyerin' (i.e. presenting the best case he can to defend his point of view--even if it is a stretch). Just like the guy in the op-ed including the "gang rape"or some of the statements from some lawyers on here during the JJ trial. I'm not slamming them either, just trying to understand how they tend to conceptualize things. Lots of white and black hats in their world views.

I think Tru is an idiot for EVER putting what he's got going right now in danger. I think drinking and driving is incredibly stupid too and i am diligent about not doing it as I feel like in my younger and more dumbass days I am lucky I am even alive at this point. BUT............................

Griz and Cat fans in general getting on a collective high horse about it when you see what goes on in the parking lots of both Washington-Grizzly and Bobcat Stadium every fall is insanely hypocritical!!!! At the hundreds of Griz home games I have attended over the last 20 years, I have watched mothers and fathers put their children in the backseat with beer and bottles in their hands, get behind the wheel and drive off. Thousands of times I have seen that in both Missoula and Bozeman. So to come down on someone for the same act, just because you don't like him seems about as retarded as the act of drinking and driving itself.

Indian-outlaw should be the last one casting stones here...but keep chucking them Mr. Innocent. Let's throw out innocent until proven guilty the next time your pulled over and cited....mmmkay.

+1...but I hope this is a wake up call for a young man who has a chance to make a difference. Maybe coming back to see your buddies isn't a great idea at this stage of your life :grenade: . Training, eating right, and prepping for OTA's seems like a better choice  Having a second run in with MPD in a short period of time could be the catalyst for the catastrophic . A third "situation" with MPD may be your last. We really don't need you "peeing in our pool right now either "...clown.

So because I'm a griz fan and even if I don't drink and drive, or even drink, I am being hypocritical? Sounds a bit like calling every griz football player a thug, but who would do that?

FWIW, my son-in-law bailed him out and said he seemed completely sober. My point being, at least he wasn't wasted, prolly just a bit over the limit.

If true, he won't end up with a dui. Innocent until proven guilty. If you refuse a breath test, there is a good chance that the officer is going to arrest you, whether there is any evidence of impairment or not.

jeezus greenie, you are so in love with um jocks you would probably even defend the way the basketball team played last night.

Oh, I agree! My limit is one. If I've even taken a sip of a second beer, I will not drive.

I wasn't defending Tru's actions.

yeah, but you're from Anaconda, so ONE is usually a "40". :D

TJ must really be a dumb mutherfu*ker.

I drove from Butte to Fargo drunk as fu*k last weekend for the Kid Rock Bob Seger concert and...........well lets just say I am gearing up to hit it again this weekend to Denver.....and yes Absolute will be involved.......Absolutely.

Dumb... I have never had a DUI because I always use taxi's or have friends drive... $25 or so from the bar... Keep it Simple Stupid

I don't know about Montana, but in Washington State, at least in the Seattle area, if you get a DUI, that's a $5000 fine right away, before you have to pay for the alcohol classes and the breathalyzer and lawyer etc... $10,000 is cheap there...

I had a few friends go through that, and I just wanted to punch them... Pay the taxi, Morons
i
Well spank your ass and call you a monkey. Aren't you special.

None of that means that drinking and driving is safe though, and I'm pretty sure that's what matters.

Simply put, there's no excuse for someone like Tru to do something like this. He clearly has the money for a taxi, and he has a job that doesn't exactly look highly upon things like this, especially since he has been in trouble before. There's no way to justify this. He did something very stupid. End of story.

Excerpt from St Louis Post-Dispatch....going to be a bit pricey for him.....

....Friday's incident along with Jenkins' suspension for a game last season after partying with two teammates before the Rams Nov. 11 contest at San Francisco could increase the need for the team to add another cornerback, either in the draft or what remains in free agency.

During the 2011 season at Montana, Johnson was tasered by Missoula police trying to control a rowdy party at Johnson's apartment. Johnson later pleaded no contest to misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges.

As for Friday's DUI charge, there was no immediate comment from Johnson's agent. The Rams released the following statement: "We are aware of the situation regarding Trumaine Johnson. We are gathering more information and we will have no further comment at this time."

Similarly, NFL executive Greg Aiello said via e-mail that the league will review the facts and make a determination on any possible discipline for Johnson.

According to the substance abuse program in the league's collective bargaining agreement, a first DUI with no aggravating circumstances results in a fine of two-game checks _ up to a maximum of $50,000.

Too bad. Will be interesting to hear the circumstances. Obviously, he ought to be more careful. So anyone with the potential for a dui should move to St. Louis or move out of town? Now that's pretty funny. Just out of curiosity, what does Trumaine "have to lose" over a dui citation? You self-righteous types make me chuckle. I like Tru. I'm glad he and UM's other NFL players come back to Missoula.

Actually, an arrest or legal charge is often the beginning of the story--not the end of the story. We'll see what happens with this one.

Yes, studies showing that texting and driving is 6 times more dangerous than driving while drunk doesn't mean drinking and driving is safe, but it does put some perspective and the comments that drinking and driving is incredibly dangerous or some horrible crime. Hundreds of thousands of people drive after drinking every night, without incident.

PR is right...................see you guys in Denver

Not having ever received a DUI, I was wondering how long does a DUI stay on your record as far as insurance is concerned?
