He continues to try to play three positions instead of maintaining the discipline to play his own. He is all over the place and frequently sucked out of position. He's very talented, but trying to do too much. Too many whiffs for a Buchanan candidate; I expected more of him this year.

I agree with you Kem but without his two huge plays this year, the blocked FG against Poly and the forced fumble that led to the late TD return yesterday, this Griz team could have four losses.
Tripp made plays when the team needed it. I don't want to say that he has "single handedly" saved the Griz season but he has been as important as anyone to this point. Good players make good plays in key situations. You have to give him credit for that!

I think Tripp is allowed by the coaches to freelance a bit. Maybe he takes it too far...I'm not watching him that intently.

He lined up for the Cal Poly block based on his own observations of CP's blocking scheme on the left side during the previous attempts. Earlier in the game he was on the right side on PAT and FG attempts.

Just don't go back and watch his attempted tackle on the USD QB late in the 4th...that was a tad bit embarrassing...

That's a very difficult tackle for a backer who has dropped back into pass defense, or any defender, to make. It was in complete open space. The qb slowed slightly or made some minor move, which must have thrown him off. Tripp didn't make a good play on that one, but again it was a very hard tackle for a backer to make. That big qb was surprisingly good runner.

Tripp is a terrific player and leader, and one of the keys to UM's success this year, including yesterday. Anyone who can't see that, plain and simple doesn't understand the game. Yes, Coyle is a terrific player too.

or any other play of the game for that matter

Get out of here with your BS. Tripp had a nice game yesterday. Led the team in tackles, including 7 solos and the key forced fumble.

This may be with the encouragement of the coaches.

7 solo tackles??????? I must have been on my way to the fridge for a beer? Oh, I forgot, I only did that during the commercials.
