Tripp: JJ is best we're going to see all year, bar none

This was a stupid bump, and frankly what Tripp said is still correct (in my opinion).

Can you imagine what JJ would do to this secondary.........?

I'm not sure whether to be horrified at that thought (defensively) or excited at that thought (offensively).... or frustrated that JJ isn't allowed to do what he can do until usually the 2nd half or 4th quarter... I'M SO CONFUSED NOW!

JJ is a hell of a QB. I really hope we move more and more towards allowing him to use his talents early in games instead of trying to beat our heads up against the wall attempting to establish the run to set up the pass.

As in shut up and play the games and don't talk about anyone on your team being "the best" until it's been proven on the field. 5 -6 teams should keep quiet and let their actions on the field reflect their talent level.

"95" ring a bell? That was back when we were undersized, underskilled Montana with a little old QB that really might have been "the best" and had played the season before at a very high level. Yes, the poster that year said "Legend of the Fall" but will always recall Don Read's ablity to downplay his teams' talents and prop up the opposition. He liked to lay in the weeds as much as possible and avoid huge overexpectations. Now seems like our team, fans and local media can't wait to create them....then bitch and moan if the team loses a couple.

Answer your question?

Realistic insight mouse, you would make a good AD for UM. Modesty and being humble is something that is lost on the Griz. Those attributes make great teams truly great.

What the fuck would Eastern know about either of those things? :jack:

ANY college football fan who tries to put down another team and its players for not being modest or humble enough is either a liar or an EFFING MORON!! College football is full of celebration, chest bumping, trash talking, high fives, bold statements in the media and every other thing you can think of. And yes, YOU'RE FAVORITE TEAM, whether it's Eastern, Montana State, Carroll College, The Griz or Alabama, has those players who do that stuff too. They ALL HAVE THEM. They all have players who make bold and brash comments to the press, and THEY ALL HAVE players who are cocky and arrogant. And it's not going to change.

…says the chronic e-griz troll, posing as a EWU fan to talk some shit. Nice try.

I thought the “my eags won’t win against MSU post” was especially well played…. and yet you where “shouting vulgarities at my TV during the cats game”. Why would an Eastern fan care about how the cats played, and why weren’t you watching “your” game instead.

Chicken shit.....

Im and first and foremost and Eastern fan, being an alumni and all. But the Cats have got style man, I love to watch Dmac play...he was all there was to watch before Adams started f"ign everyone up. Dick.

Has there been another QB the Grizzly defense has faced that has been as mistake free as JJ has been? 1 INT and 2 lost fumbles if memory serves correct.

Tripp was right, the Grizzlies have a QB that is one of the smartest players when controlling the offense and plays the most mistake-free ball of just about any QB in the FCS.

I am absolutely thrilled to have JJ as our QB. No FB team on earth is perfect, no matter what some of you think or pretend to remember from plus/minus 20 years ago. This team is 7-2 -- they've lost to two good teams, both teams they might have beaten under slightly different circumstances. Let's just keep supporting the team we have, and hope for the best. Either 10-2 or 9-3 sound remarkably wonderful compared with the 5-6 of last year.

51%. when you pull a greenie and remove the first two games of the season, johnson's completion percentage is 51%. 108-209. two months of play with barely over 50% for completion rate. must be a running qb? 36 rushes for 76 yards.

Great, so go be an annoying douchebag on your own forum. Is it really that hard for you to tell when you're not wanted?

That's what happens when you get no time from your O-line and not enough receivers get open and/or drop good throws. JJ is very smart to throw passes away rather than try to force them and end up with an interception.

I'm looking for better defense.....don't expect an apology and not intending to call out Tripp. This preseason just stuck in my head as one where lots of our guys were blabbing about themselves in the press before one game had been played. Especially after last season, this seemed a good one to keep the mouths zipped and let your play on the field
speak for you. Let's get going Griz D!!

JJ has been averaging 750 yards against the defense in practice. Much more than the last 2 qb's got.

It's a combination of you being an Eastern fan and troll, as verified by many of your posts. You are the consistent dick.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...I'd take ewu receivers and oc, but I'd take jj or dm before I took Adams...

Can you imagine what JJ would do with some protection, time to throw and a scheme that wasn't so predictable?

Stubby, I'm with ya, I wouldn't trade JJ for VA or DM. That's not a knock against either, as I'm sure Eastern fans would say the same about Vernon and MSU fans would say the same about DeNarius. That's why we're fans. We love OUR guy, and JJ is OUR guy.

I should also say, in my earlier post I said I'd take ewu receivers, crup (sp?) is obviously excellent, but I don't know that it would be an easy trade for Ellis or Jamaal right now. Just the oc... 8-)

JJ and Henderson are starting to look more and more like an NFL QB and his target receiver that are on the same page. Now Jamaal is making his way into that area as well. We simply have an excellent QB with a very very good to excellent receiving corp. Now we just need to have the OL do better blocking and opening lanes for the running game and we are set at offense. The D just needs to clean up tackles. No one can say they are not playing with lots of heart and effort, in fact some of the best effort we have seen in a few years. Maybe not the best skills at all positions but the effort should not be questioned.
