OK genius. Since apparently you are so much smarter than me, enlighten me as to who at MSU is going to commit the next crimes? Oh, too tough for even you? OK, just tell me which "student athlete" is going to commit a "significant" crime? You realize that there WILL be somebody? NO? OK, then I'll make it really easy for even you. Which Giz athlete will be the next to commit a crime? I'll wait but I want dates and times so the authorities can be forewarned and forearmed since not everyone has your insight into future human behavior. Yes, I already said that letting these thugs anywhere near the U was a mistake and changes have been made but I am most worried about the crimes yet-to-comeand your superpower to apparently predict them. You'll be a hero...bearly visible said:Grisly Fan said:So apparently you are into the whole witch hunt thing. Obviously you don't think that they came to the U of M as fine upstanding citizens and were corrupted (now THAT would be a hell of a story) but came that way. So why don't you blame the high school they came from? Maybe the grade school or pre-school? Surely someone along the way failed to do what needed to be done! Who was it and why did they let the problem progress to Montana?bearly visible said:Grisly Fan said:I wonder how long a school can be held accountable for the actions of former students (including former athletes)? I know it is in vogue to bash rival schools for this but seriously what is the statute of limitations? 5, 10, 20 years, when? Hindsight is 20/20 and shows that many, many people should never have walked the campus let alone wear an athletic jersey but how can anyone know how anyone else is going to turn out? You deal with what you have at the moment with your best gut instinct then it is up to the individual to have a clue. We seem have abdicated personal responsibility and want to blame anyone and everyone else for personal failures. Sure, it was a mistake letting these idiots anywhere near the U of M but now they are grown-ups and are solely responsible for their own behavior. Try 'em and if convicted lock 'em up and move on. I can't imagine the value of trying to blame anyone else for the road that they have chosen.
Yeah, these kids were stellar student-athletes when the payed, but suddenly went to the dark side after they "graduated". You recruit thugs, you get thugs. Nobody wants to admit it, but Hauck is the reason for all of the sh_t we are going through now. It started with his recruits, and still haunts us today.
I'll help you with the answer: Screw all all that crap. They came and left and committed crimes. Its all on them. Sure the U of M needs to try to not bring such individuals into the school but unless you can prove that the people who recruited them knew that they were going to commit these kinds of crimes then take you holier than though ex post facto brilliance and shove it.
Your post is pathetic. These kids were trouble when Hauck recruited them. I know for a fact that Parks had multiple arrests as a juvenile. Hauck did not care about a kid's past as long as he could play football at a high level.

I don't know how he does it either, but BOTH were very well done.

Wouldn't be surprised if he called Delaney and Haslam into his office Sunday morning to fire them on the pretext of "taking a new direction." Hopefully, he would have enough smarts this time to have a third party witness after checking to see if the school would be on the hook more unnecessary payouts...

And Rachac has the story out becasue Lee Enterprises owns both the Missoulian and the Gazette. So all he has to do is copy and paste.
tourist said:Former players. Former. What they do on the outside is not a concern of the University. To make the connection to UM football and crime is bullshit. Its HYPE, intended to sell newspapers. This is like blaming the gun when some nut job goes off and kills a bunch of people. Yes, two of the accused were former Griz football players. They are also black. Why not make an issue of this, Missoulian? Political correctness gone awry?

I'm slipping - sent a reply as a PM. Meant to post it here:
And I was showing houses all afternoon!
Snowstorms turn me into an angry poster, haha.

Haven't you heard? That's racist.
