I won't get in the middle of this hypothetical pissing match but I was fortunate to attend the games in both salt lake and Vancouver and you're right in regards to attendance. people are grossly exaggerating how many people come in for the games who aren't already here.Yukon said:1. Has big sky ever held a FIS world cup event?
2. Bobcat stadium would get the upgrade, not WGS. It has the posibility of that type of expansion and its in BOZEMAN.
3. about 15,000-20,000 decade long jobs would be created. Then most gone after the olympics.
4. only about 100,000 people at most would attend (not millions). Most poeple that attend are residents, workers, media, security, athletes and family members .
5. Copper Griz and Bryant Gumble need to get a room.
I won't chime in on whether or not a town like Bozeman could or couldn't host the games or if I think they should. I do think people might change their stance a little had they been to the games and saw firsthand exactly what they entail.
Just out of curiosity, which side would change their stance?
well depending on how close-minded they are I would think both sides.. people on both sides of the argument tend to exaggerate their point to show just "how ridiculous it is to think a town in Montana could ever host the games" or how "those that think the Olympics could never happen here are just small-minded rural farmers afraid of thinking big".
I tend to think it's somewhere in the middle. I don't see a Montana community hosting the Olympics anytime soon. but I don't think it's as far fetched as some want to believe. and I don't think those who are so against the idea have been to the winter Olympics or they might have a different perspective. just my opinion of course.
