Pretty certain as well as MD is getting paid he would be bringing in a lot more with more wins, longer runs into the post season or a NC?

Just a guess. I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Hell, someone usually corrects me even if I'm right. Does anyone know about incentives for our college coaches?

MD in addition to his 162k has 45k incentives. There is also camps, speaking, and media. about 15k is based on post season..........[/quote
Senor, you forgot lifetime supply of Depends.....

And denture cream. The guy couldn't keep his teeth in his mouth. Just sayin.....

Lol. I appreciate the creative thinking, but UM is certainly not in a position to be asking the Washingtons for any more big donations any time soon.

UM won't need outside help on the salary. Baldwin is coming because he can double his current compensation at EWU.

Baldwin made roughly 153,000 in 2013. Montana is going to pay him $300 plus?

And you know he is coming, how?

That $153K is total compensation (health insurance, retirement, etc.) is it not? I believe his base salary is around $115K.

I asked him the same in another thread. Silence there too.

As you know, the state databases include all compensation paid to a state employee during the calendar year. So, Baldwin won the BSC and a playoff game, had his benefits added in, and still didn't make Delaney's BASE salary.

Baldwin will not be coming to the Griz. You can take that to the bank.
That's a good thing, UM admissions doesn't accept the prop 48's he likes to gamble on.

That is a very good point. I wonder how he'd do without the problem kids.

Right, and none of that exists outside of Montana, apparently. Gotcha.

The myopia on here is truly entertaining.

It sure doesn't go for nearly that price in Cheney. It's not very difficult to determine that the current compensation package at UM is a lot more lucrative than in Cheney. That's the current one. We don't know what UM is offering the new guy.

Look, it's really not a useful exercise to compare the two jobs. Anyone with a brain knows which one is better. Apples and Oranges.

Ironically enough, these are the same folks that think ewho to UM is a "lateral" move.

good point. it'd be a step down for him in the beginning but he's a good coach...lateral sounds right. :o

;)

I have to say, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BOARD THIS WEEK. 99 percent of the threads are about US and not about the Bobcats. And for the very most part, ILTC is about the only MSU poster,. INVADING every thread trying to drum up smack talk that isn't there. Isn't this back to how WE used to do it? I mean honestly ILTC, you're trying wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too hard to drum up Cat-Griz rivalry smack, and you're doing it in threads, i.e coaching thread and threads about new facilites. Those things have NOTHING to do with Saturday's game, and honestly dude, you're starting to look desperate trolling for smack in these threads. By all means, throw the smack out in the threads that have AT LEAST something to do with the GAME, but geez man, you're really reaching.

Conversely, this is how WE USED TO DO IT. Yes, we're excited about the Brawl, yes we have no love for the Bobcats, but we as fans got so accustomed to not engaging in the meaningless smack, or being offended by look-alike threads or the burning of teddy bears. WE as fans USED to just kind of think that stuff was beneath us. I have MISSED those days. Kind of like when Peter Christian intentionally doesn't announce Bobcat scores dui]ring the five home games that the Griz don't play MSU. Why did he do that? Because the fanbase really doesn't care what the Cats are doing. While on the other side of the divide, they STILL CHANT ESGGCG when they are playing friggin' Idaho State on SENIOR DAY!! Honestly, I have missed these days, and I commend Egriz this week, because it seems like, for the most part, we haven't got sucked into the smack, at least in threads like this, that HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GAME OR THE MONTANA STATE BOBCATS. Well done Egrizzers :thumb:

EDIT: Oh by the way, just so ILTC doesn't think I fell for the bait, I think Montana State is a very, very good football team. I think Dakota Prukop is HELL OF A FOOTBALL PLAYER, and I think Rob Ash is an extremely good football coach. Other Griz fans might not agree with me, especailly on this week, but I have no problem admitting those things. Saturday is going to be one hell of a scary game. But honestly, as a FAN, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I agree. It took the Cats 30 years to get through puberty, but they have finally emerged as a fine team; fans, not so fine, but the team is very good, and has outstanding young men playing for it.

Yes, the Cats are good, but the Griz will likely win on Saturday. Very important game, for both teams, but Griz have more heart and more tradition. Hope JJ can play and go the distance, but, if not, SSH and the team will be ready to win the day. Cats defense is pretty weak. Griz should be able to run or pass on them. The Cats middle backer is terrible, I hear from my friends and family in Bozeman. Singleton is very good, tho. UM's line is picking up steam, and learned that they can open big holes or just holes big enough for Canada to get through. Canada is the best back in the conference, and now he too is picking up steam. Cat o is good, without either qb, but Griz d is very good and will be up to the task.

Will be a great battle. This is what sport is about. And as I said a few weeks ago, I very much believe in this team.

Go Griz!

105k to 155k is doubling the salary? You must have learned math at Weber State.

UM is offering the new coach 155k base? Where did you see that?

You think they are offering more? Bobby Hauck was practically the god-coach at UM and only paid 145k

I am making a prediction: UM is guaranteed to hire a coach from the lower divisions, so they can offer him a lower base salary and have him earn his way to the typical Montana salary (Hauck started at 105k). It's just the Montana culture. Always looking for the cheapest deal. That is why there is a Walmart in every town.

Why would they pay the big bucks for an FCS level candidate? That takes away from the NRA donation fund.

Yes, I do. Also, if you think BH was only paid 145k, you might need to check into where you got that information. Finally, BH hasn't coached at UM in about five years.

Base salaries are the best comparison. Every coach gets benefits, media funds, etc.

Also, inflation hasn't hit us THAT hard.

Mick makes 162k base. Between incentives, media contract, camp and apparel money youre looking at over 200k. Only at a directional commuter school would they consider that lateral compensation. [emoji6]

You've never been to Missoula, apparently.

I go to Montana several times a year. My whole family are Griz. And gun loving rednecks :thumb:

Perfectly wrong. I'll coach them for $0 base if the incentive package is right. If you think the incentive packages are the same at every school, then you don't have your brain in today.
