The real details in the "unsealed document" - shocking

If the bleeding heart fems on egriz think JJ is guilty as sin then by all means quit going to the football games. Burn all your Griz clothes, hats and shorts. Stay out of the Mo club and other haunts. Quit bitchin and find a new fountain upon which to blow your bubbles!

For others on the fence, figure out and explain why the accuser is constantly getting in touch with Jordy?

Those knowing of his innocence will miss him this fall.....more than likely. In my opinion Johnson got screwed! Not raped, screwed!

Everybody is certainly entitled to an opinion. Paoli's treatise sounds damning as it should, its his job if it didn't I'd be concerned. So should any closing argument in a trial. I haven't seen any documents from the University.

It seems funny to me (but then I don't have an opinion on JJ yet) that those declaring his innocence and a rail road ride with out ALL the information and "due process" fail to see they are equally labeling the girl giving her a train ride and denying her due process.

There is plenty to talk about without making a couple of kids the brunt of it. I would guess they would both like a redo. The girl has lost her chance at a UM education. (read carfeully RE's response to her, I'm not so sure but what she wasn't "asked" to leave)

Could you please clarify this? What page is the letter on? Thanks!

I think I speak for everyone when I say this...

Guilty or innocent - everyone is entitled to a fair trial & due process. Every individual is entitled to present their case & defend themselves & their actions. If it is found that JJ has committed the crime, throw his ass out of Montana. We do not want criminals representing our school, or our state.

I assume you mean after the requisite time spent in the appropriate correctional facility?

Of course, no crime should go unpunished.

I was surprised, talking this morning with some students, including two females, who generally are "anti-athletics" to varying degrees, to find that they see Engstrom's and Couture's conduct throughout as "outrageous."

Comments were: "this isn't due process of any kind." "Johnson is getting railroaded." "This isn't fair to anybody." "What I read in the court documents says this is too close a call to wreck someone's life over, either way."

A comment that surprised me, from one of the women: "the part about saying "no" is at the beginning, not on the way home." A follow up: "she didn't 'deserve' any of this, but then he doesn't either."

you are saying that two female students who are anit-athletics waded through the released documents and came to the same conclusion that you griz homers did "without bias"

cool story bro. :thumb:

PR posted it so it must be true Haven't found it in the PDF:

"In Engstrom's June 6 letter to the accused, agreeing with the panel's conclusions and expulsion, Engstrom's last line is: "I am sorry that your career at the University must come to an end."

JJ is the accused. She is the accusor. "letter to the accused".

Students hear about things like this way before the Missoulian does. Stuff like this spreads like wildfire on campus. Many students new that this crap was going on in the "honor court" before the Missoulian could print a story.

What is funny to me is that I spent 6 years as a student and never knew we had an honor court. Guess I never put myself in a position to need to know that there was one.

This may explain why Raider's informal office survey came to 10-1 against the university, and TNT's was the opposite. Maybe TNT got the university confused with the accused. The accused's lawyer accused the univeristy of bad process, and thus the university was accused.

These are a group of students who often comment on these things. But, the women are "vocal." They expressed their opinion apparently a da**** sight faster than the alleged victim in the JJ situation. At UM, contrary to the current meme, women are articulate and do stand up for themselves; it may one of a number of reasons the assault rate is lower than MSU's.

Unless you are a troglodyte and believe otherwise, it is possible for women to be articulate and have opinions.

I've been gone for a few weeks.... do I read this as JJ has been expelled? Gone?

BTW - who the hell is the accuser? Gone too? She should be...seems to me certain folks around town know who she is. Equal justice IMHO.

I didn't claim anything Grizatwork. But I gotta tell you, a lot of people come into my business on a daily basis. I'm about ready to take down my stadium seat sponsors plaque, GSA Griz prints and the other memorabilia I have. There are a lot of opinions out there, and folks are pretty vocal. I'm tired of hearing it. Its not scientific by any means but its about 10 to one against the Athletic Department and interestingly the boosters. The document release stirred things up again. Saying "I don't know, sounds bad, hope it works out," isn't enough. No matter where folks stand, they are likely to climb down your throat.

BTW generally nothing gets to the Honor Court unless the Dean thinks they are guilty. It wasn't so long ago he made those decisions by himself.

Interesting.
My office is in downtown Missoula, and we have Griz memorabilia all over the place. We’ve had exactly the opposite reaction.

Personally, the reaction I’ve heard is about 10-1 the other direction, ranging from clients, neighbors, etc. Some Griz fans, some not.
In my office I keep hearing someone will be gone from the University by the end of summer, the bets are riding on Engstrom being the one to go 11 to 1 :o

the 1 says she thinks RE won't make it to august ;)

Wrong on so many levels. You are trying to masquerade as an unbiased poster but your bias and lies are showing. The Honor Court has been in the UTU agreement since at least 1987 and I know because I was the student complaint officer for ASUM for three years. You are full of shit, plain and simple. The Dean is NOT supposed to make a determination of guilt or innocence, but rather the Dean is to run the Court objectively. The members of the Court are to hear evidence and decide the merits. The Dean in this case, according to a Federal Judge, did things that shocked him and violated due process, yet you have no problem with it. Mr. Couture unmasked?
