The QB will be

Hey, don't you have some sort of big game against an in-state rival this weekend?

Oh right. You guys care more about our team than yours. :thumb:

I would like to see one of the younger guys get some good play time. Does it mean it has to be have to be the starter of this game? No I don't think so really.

The coaches should start the person they feel will give us the best shot to get ahead to win. However if we get way ahead by half 24 to zip, them a younger guy should get the go in the second half. Know if we are knitted up 14 to 14 at half and SSH has not been productive then again a younger guy should get a shot to play to win.

I personally would hate to see none of the young guys get play time this year. We go into next year with next to no game experience then.

I don't see our young guys getting many shots to play this year honestly and this may be the best game for it.

My two cents.

I am slightly suspicious as to whether IronEagle is actually an EWU fan or a poser. His only activity on our board is talking up Montana State....

This whole SSH starting over the younger QBs thing is the biggest non-issue that I have ever seen. Seriously, who cares? The Griz had their starting QB go down with a concussion and have some extremely tough games coming up where his health could be tested again. Now that is a big issue!

I like you, I respect you as a person, but you have got to be kidding me if you're "slightly suspicious." This dude was hoping Coach Ron Ash's selfies would be included in the recent celebrity nude photo leak.

Coaches don't get paid to think about next year. They are going to do what it takes to make the team as strong as possible THIS year.

Hypothetical. Let's say UM has a solid year like everyone is expecting, and JJ tears and ACL during the cat/griz game in November. If you're taking your team into the playoffs without your starting QB are you going to want your backup to have as many reps as possible, or are you going to want one guy who played half a game, and two other guys who each played maybe a quarter?

This is a more likely scenario....

QB1 has people carry trophies for him.

Outside of a Ron Ash system, of course.

So they don't get paid to recruit for the FUTURE? Also , the argument that some have experience and some don't is basically a revolving door. Sure, in the scenario you laid out of course you want your most experienced and most talented QB2 at the controls going into the playoffs. Where the argument falls back on itself, however, is how are players with little to no experience supposed to gain experience if they're never allowed to play because of lack of experience? Both of the QBs we have on the team right now who actually have game experience will be gone after this year so where does that leave us for next year? Are we just going to go without a QB next year since we shouldn't put anyone on the field who lacks experience?

I'm not saying SH shouldn't start Saturday because he absolutely should considering he's our QB2. However, I hope the other two QBs also get an opportunity to take some snaps to gain some game time experience and this game is probably the best opportunity for that to happen considering the strength of the rest of our schedule.

I got your back hyphenated, even though some of these others don't want to see you start. The kid has put his time in and had his number called due to injury so I say show him some support and let him play his game.

This game may not mean much to some of Griz nation but I bet this opportunity means the world to hyphenated.

Go Griz

How dare Mick Delaney start the 2nd best QB on the team at this point. How dare he give the #1 backup vital time with the first string in a live game. He clearly doesn't understand that this game isn't about depth and using your best players but appeasing the fans for what they want to see in the years ahead.

In that case I vote to put in one of our outstanding kickers at QB. I mean who knows, maybe they excel better at throwing the football than they do at kicking.
