MBBALL THE MONEY SPECULATION

If he's committing 5 turnovers a game against Big Sky teams how many will he commit against big-time competition? He commits stupid unforced turnovers EVERY game. We all know he has immense talent, and maybe he'd do better with fellow all-stars to pass to at a big-time program, but he needs to work on his own game wherever he goes.

Agree. Not now but maybe. he needs to slim down, 195, 200 at most. Develop a more consistent 3 pt. shot and cut down his turnovers.
He definately looked FAT at the end of the year. Other ppl said the same thing to me. It didn't seem to affect his play, but if that trend continues, he's gonna eat his way out of his full potential

He needs to play shooting guard where he won’t be handling the ball as much.

I disagree. He is a point guard and I don't think he would want to be a shooting guard only. He is incredible driving to the hole, and can make great passes and can create his own 3 point shot attempts. He has to have the ball in his hands a lot to do what he does. He needs to cut down on unforced turnovers Yes, but he is a point guard, period IMO.

Money worked with a personal trainer last summer at the Missoula Peak. He looked pretty fit at the start of the season but seemed to have regressed by the end.

Respectfully disagree

He needs to apply himself in off season training like Doncic did this past off season. A dynamic off season could eventually net himself millions after the 26/27 season.

I know he plays a lot of ball. I'm not sure if he works on his weaknesses much. Seems like he's extremely good at his strengths. Yet, he's still inconsistent with the 3 ball, going right, and turnover prone?

Have not watched enough life video to judge his ability to go right, but stats show he is at least adequate on treys (abt 33%) and has improved slightly over time. Turnovers, however, are a major concern, especially this season. That has to be fixed. Personally, I think he tries to do too much, but that's also a matter of concentration/focus.

If Money does stay, I hope the staff doesn’t do him a disservice with the roster construction around him again. I think Money is built in a similar mold as the James Harden and Luka Doncic’s of the world. He’s not a PG, but the offense is at its best when it’s dictated to get the ball into their hands at the end of the play. High usage, high turnover guys who create advantages for the offense at an elite level. Money did a great job of creating advantages this year, and man was it frustrating watching his teammates squander them by bricking open 3s, not cutting, or by not attacking long close outs.

There’s a tried and true method of building successful teams around these kinds of guys. You need a PG who can defend and get guys into their sets (e.g a Chris Paul). You need wings who can defend, cut, and knock down the occasional triple while not needing the ball much on offense (e.g P.J Washington’s). And you need a big who just runs to the rim hard and rebounds (e.g a Clint Capela). The pro of building teams around this kind of player is that, when it’s done right, it produces some elite basketball teams. The con is that, when it’s not, it can get ugly on both ends.

The staff NEEDS to grab a reliable PG and a coordinated center. Another shooting wing who can (preferably) also defend would be a cherry on top. That we’re already recruiting shows we expect to have spots, so we’ve got to use them wisely.

I think his turnovers can easily be reduced by 1/2. His teammates seem to be not ready for many of his passes. So many passes bobbled and not completing anticipated cuts. A good majority by Aguino. Not surprising with a freshman logging many minutes.

I am just wondering what kind of NIL budget does Montana have to bring in the true point guard, three and d wing, and coordinated big man you are looking for to build around Money? Those players are all getting paid. I don’t like what college basketball and football has become but that is our new reality. I am hearing it will take six figures for Sac State to keep their freshman Lavrenov. The kid Mrus transferred from Idaho to BYU last year and averaged 9.6 minutes per game. Did not even get in the NCAA tournament game. Think he got paid $250-300k. That is nothing to BYU that just paid Dybantsa $7 million for one season. How does the Big Sky and Big West compete?

Tell us what you would do with Money and what he should do. I don't see that in your comments. Thx.

Money's TO's come from trying to make passes that he shouldn't make. Ya, he can see a possible pass, but he should quickly realize that the pass isn't there or is too risky. He also tries to make too many tough one-handed passes. He should be able to correct that fairly easily. Surprised that Travis hasn't corrected that, at least to some extent.

Not a chance Money makes it to the NBA. This forum has a funny way with team and player bias. weird place this is.
You are clueless, just another never played the gamer I suppose. Money Williams has 3 paths to make the NBA. 1) he blows up next season at Montana and averages something like 30 ppg. 2) He transfers and has success at a Big 12 or similar level program. 3) He grinds it out in summer league and the G league for a few seasons before making the NBA.

you are a moron. and by far the most annoying poster on here. How much do you want to bet he doesn't make the NBA? He is not even in the conversation. Funny world you live in.

Any 5 year old has the same type of paths.

He is not even in the conversation? Yet he worked out with NBA teams before the draft last season. That is be definition in the conversation.

Not necessarily. They heard the hype, gave him a look, and maybe told him he needed a lot more development. That scenario would tske him out of the draft conversation.

that means absolutely nothing. he is not in the conversation if he his not in the top 100. It's really not hard. would it be cool for him to make, absolutely, is it realistic, absolute not. There is always another class coming in that will push him further down the rankings and not to mention the european wave. Unrealistic, and I will not entertain or suffer you mongoloids any longer.
