The lesser publicized consequences of making the move

Who is going to take the Big Sky?... It is wide open. Who is going to take the FCS?... Also wide open. That makes it exciting, eh? What the heck do you want, the Yankees? If you want a the big money players and the big money games, move to a big city. Until Missoula becomes the sort of place you wouldn't want to live in we will be a tier or so below the big buck guys. So what? If the playing field is equal and the games are exciting and the beer flows... hello! Oh yeah, and the kids get a good education. UM can do that as is.

But FCS playoff games are "money-makers for small schools"? Far from it; they are are money-losers across the board.

I wonder how Gordie Fix, Mike Helean, Mike Larson, and dozens of other small and not so small business owners in Missoula feel about the playoffs being money losers.
I believe Gordie sold the Press Box (again). Apparently he either believed that 1) the Griz would no longer be going to the playoffs, or 2) there wasn't enough money in Griz playoff games to keep him involved, or 3) he has had enough of the cold weather in Missoula in December and wanted to go somewhere warm and watch bowl games  . Not sure about Mike Helean, I stopped going to Reds when Mike lead the MTA fight to try to restrict (to the point of closing in some cases) Microbreweries in the state.
