The last time a top QB came into WGS...

I did notice that the QB for NAU isn't on any list and they beat the Griz pretty handily. Does that mean JJ is a loser? NO, he is a good QB. The team played a bad game. What does that game say about those lists? Nothing as they don't mean anything. It takes a TEAM to win or lose games.
True. But, it wasn't a semi-final game. I am sure the elite will show JJ how to win those games. Or at least a quarterfinal.

What ever? It only takes one player to CHOKE and the Team loses, DM is a chocker and we've all seen him do it three years and running. :o

Please note the team I root for and the dripping sarcasm.

Is that what JJ did in the NAU game? I guess he is a choker too in your eyes since you think it takes one palyer and it's the QB. . JJ hasn't won a big game. My opinion is he is an excellent QB.

Passing efficiency? A better stat is Points Responsible For.

One of you is talking a career and the other is arguing just this year, and he has been injured? Apples and Oranges. Without a doubt his individual stats over his career prove he is an elite QB

Absolutely. One of the elites of all time college QBs. He is great, but the TEAM can't get very far in the playoffs. Kind of sucks for the TEAM.

He will never be considered elite until he proves he can win the big game. Until then, he is a decent QB who put up good career numbers with nothing to show for it. Same will be true this year.

JJ won a national quarterfinal game, a game LBJ hasn't even sniffed!

Enough nonsense. JJ has only been a starter 1.5 years. In his first year he raised holy hell in a quarterfinal game against Northern Iowa. To say that he wasn't the biggest factor in that game is idiotic. The next week he almost overcame the worst 8 minutes of defensive football ever played by coming back and just about beating Sam Houston, who had kicked the shit out of you guys the week before. This guy is a winner. Your all time elite QB has not proven himself when it counts. My bet is on JJs 3 year career over the Elites 4 year career. Bias admitted.

Sorry Hammer, he is considered and elite QB everywhere for but a few people on here. Every team in the NFL has been out scouting him and he is being compared to Russel Wilson on the Seahawks. When you put up the numbers DM has and join that club you are an elite QB.

Ok Bigsky33, I'm going to preface this by saying DM is my all-time favorite Bobcat on offense with Kevin Lundstrom being my favorite defender because I knew him growing up. I've made absolutely no secrets about how great I think DM is both on and off the field. But one of the elite college quarterbacks of ALL TIME??? Did I read that right? Please tell me you were kidding or you meant something else by it. That statement is so far off base it's absurd and is not even funny, and again, I think the absolute world of DeNarius McGhee.

Enjoy your mediocre QB with elite stats leading you to another mediocre seasons end. I know you guys are satisfied with those types of seasons.

And throttled the #1 team in the nation on the road, in a rivalry game, for a conference title.

I really don't get the cat fans in this thread. Even levelheaded cat fans agree that a knock on DM is that he doesn't have a big game win. Doesn't mean he's a bad QB. Just reality. And if he doesn't get one this year , it's impossible to consider him elite.

Things get really twisted on here. I never said he is an elite QB of all time. However, he is in the club of only 14 QBs in history of the NCAA. That is a super special accomplishment. Does that qualify for the word elite? When you look at the number of QBs in the history of the NCAA and there are only 14 in this club, I would say it may. What that means for his future I don't know. Like I said, the pro scouts compare him to Wilson of the Seahawks. Lulay is in the club too. He has had a great career in the CFL being an MVP.

Can't argue with the last part. I think DM could be a star in the CFL, and that isn't smack. But actually, I looked back and you did say one of the elite QB's in the history of CFB. Again, I admire DM's accomplishments at MSU. But just because you pass for such and such an amount of yards and run for them doesn't put you on par with the others that did it. You have to consider the level and the defenses those are playing against too. Kordell Stewart did his when the Buffs were at the height of what is now the BCS. He wasn't playing against Montana, Eastern Washington and Northern Colorado. Tommy Frazier put his numbers up on the biggest stage of college football in the greatest era of college football. Charlie Ward same thing. It sounds to me like you're comparing DM to those guys. Next you're going to tell me he's as good as Jameis Winston too.

DM never quit anything in his life. You don't acheive what he has in life by quitting.

sure you can.. there are tons of drop downs that quit on their FBS team to play for teams like the Cats and the Griz. So I guess you can achieve exactly what he has achieved by quitting.

33, I think you are failing to recognize that DM is the major reason the bobcats are in the hunt. He is the competitive edge the cats have. After all "In Denarius We Trust" is the bobcat mantra. I suggest that the cats sit DM and see what happens. Oh wait that has happened and it was not pretty.
DM is a good qb but he is not as good as the cat fans make him out to be. His talents and abilities will be missed next year and long into the future.

Does anybody else see that Billings is arguing both points.

So what is DM? A savior or just an average QB? You're trying to have it both ways!

Walkon, I said DM is a good qb on an otherwise mediocre cat team. Without DM the cats are mid conference at best and that is with their weak schedules. DM has racked up his stats against some pretty weak teams. Let's see how he does against VA and EWU.
