DM is a terrific QB. Of that there is little doubt. Where he's open to criticism is his inability (so far) to win big games.
The Bobcat TEAM hasn't won a semi-final game during his tenure but they have won a big games. I don't think you can say one player is responisble for losing those semi-final games or any game. Football is a TEAM sport! The Griz have lost some big games in JJ's tenure. Are you saying he lost them? I would say your TEAM lost them. Just say'in!
So, you're "just say'in" that the entire cat team is unable to win a big game??
Listen. Like it or not, all QBs are measured by how they play in big games. And whether you like it or not, DM has been a disappointment in most if not all of them. Is it all his fault? Of course not. But it comes with the territory. Once you stick your hands under you center's buttocks, you get the praise and the glory for wins, and the criticism for losses. DM's glaring weakness (again, so far) is his inability to win big games.
Yes the Bobcat TEAM was disapointing in the semi-final games. They have won other big games. The same goes for JJ. I guess you're saying JJs glaring weakness so far is his inability to win big games. I have seen plenty of games where the QB doesn't get the glory for wins or wasn't a big factor. Plenty of RBs have got the glory for wins. Defenses have got the glory for wins. The bottom line is it is the team. In any event, when you put up the numbers he has, you are a top QB!

If I remember correctly, wasn't it the signal/call stealer who won that game for the Griz? Talk about excuses. That one was hands down the best excuse ever!!bigsky33 said:Fact: When your in a club of only 14 QBs in the history of the NCAA that has thrown for 10,000 yds and ran for over a 1000 yds you are a top QB. When there is no other current QB in the FCS that has acheived those numbers than you are the best in the FCS. You can try to twist it any way you want but overall, right now, he is the leader!
In the past three years since DM has been the QB, the Cats TEAM beat the Griz TEAM in two out of three of those years in your home stadium. DM didn't win those two games and JJ didn't win the game in Bozeman. The TEAMS won those games!
MSU hasn't won a QUARTERFINAL game under McGhee. EWU has twice with 3 QBs in that time frame. :lol:bigsky33 said:EverettGriz said:CatzWillRise said:

bigsky33 said:The fact remains that DM is in an elite group of QBs in the history of the NCAA and no other team in the BSC can say that except former BSC team Idaho. It is a huge individual acheivement. All the BS on here about him winning big games doesn't mean a thing. TEAMS win or lose games. JJ hasn't won a big game either so I guess he must be as bad as you say DM is. I happen to think both are excellent.
No doubt, no doubt at all. He is certainly one of the elite college QBs in the entire history of the game. I can't imagine anyone arguing with that.bigsky33 said:The fact remains that DM is in an elite group of QBs in the history of the NCAA and no other team in the BSC can say that except former BSC team Idaho. What happened to your belief that history has little to do with the present.bigsky33 said:I don't see any QB on your list that is in the elite club of the 14 QBs with 10,000 yd passing and 1,000 rushing in the history of the NCAA. Yes those on the list are doing good but over the course of a collegiate career do not measure up to DM. Some of them may someday. But, as of now-DM is on top.
Absolutely. One of the elites of all time college QBs. He is great, but the TEAM can't get very far in the playoffs. Kind of sucks for the TEAM.Robsnotes4u said:Passing efficiency? A better stat is Points Responsible For.
One of you is talking a career and the other is arguing just this year, and he has been injured? Apples and Oranges. Without a doubt his individual stats over his career prove he is an elite QB

Yada yadda yadda that's all the same sh!t you kitties have spewed through the main part of each season the last three years. Right up until DM chokes in all the big games at the end of the season. Elite QB's win the big ones! DM loses them, hence he's far from elite.bigsky33 said:The Bobcats are having a good year this year. They are undefeated in conference. That is what is important. DM will do whatever it takes to win games. He is not interested in stats. However, in his tenure at MSU he has achieved the stats that put him in an elite club. I have not said he is the best QB this year. However, in his career at MSU he is the best of any QB right now. What the TEAM does this year is still to be determined.
