The last time a top QB came into WGS...

DM has never beat the Griz when he played against the 1st string QB of the Griz. He has been the benefactor of unfortunate circumstances for the Griz.
The only time he has played against a 1st stringer was against JJ in 2011 in Bozo and JJ game him a seminar in how to be an effective top tier FCS QB. Does 36 10 mean anything to you cats?
DM is a good qb but not a top qb like VA of JJ.

McGhee became the 14th QB in NCAA history on Saturday when he entered the 10,000 yds passing and over 1,000 rushing club. Only three in FCS history have reached that milestone-DM and Lulay from MSU and Nussmier from Idaho.
How many more do you think there would be if playoffs were counted back in the day?

Sorenson > JJ

I love how when the Cats beat the Griz, you guys just turn on your own team saying how bad we (Griz) sucked and it how it was pathetic we barely beat the worst Griz team in 20 years, we didn't have a real QB, a new coach, blah blah blah. It is fun to see you rip your own team though. Question - does this self-deprecating phenomenon occur only after a loss to the Cats, or did you apply this logic to all your losses in the last 3 years?

Sorenson > JJ

Sorenson isn't in the Big Sky anymore and we're not talking about Sorenson... We're talking about JJ, VA, and DM.

He said that McGhee hasn't played a 1st stringer since JJ in 2011. McGhee played against Sorenson last year. I was responding to the claim made.

Fact: When your in a club of only 14 QBs in the history of the NCAA that has thrown for 10,000 yds and ran for over a 1000 yds you are a top QB. When there is no other current QB in the FCS that has acheived those numbers than you are the best in the FCS. You can try to twist it any way you want but overall, right now, he is the leader!

In the past three years since DM has been the QB, the Cats TEAM beat the Griz TEAM in two out of three of those years in your home stadium. DM didn't win those two games and JJ didn't win the game in Bozeman. The TEAMS won those games!

A lot can be said about the quality of teams DM has played against since he suited up. Fact is the cats have had pretty much a cupcake schedule since he started. the other fact is that when DM played against the Griz and the Griz had their 1st string qb, JJ, DM got schooled badly and as the Billings Gazette headline about the game stated, " Not even close."
I have said DM is a good QB but he is not in the same league as DD, AE, Ochs, JJ and many others.
This year has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that DM is the key to the cats. Bleskin proved that nicely. I suspect the cats will be a mid conference team in the future without DM and it may be a good time for RAsh to seek retirement because his run may be over.

Only 3 in FCS? Where's AE?

Through a little over a full season's worth of work, Adams has 4,150 yards passing, 660 rushing, 44-14 TD-INT ratio.

Adams is the best QB in the history of college football, and it's not even close.

Thanks. At his Pro HOF induction, I hope Shoota will tell the story of how he got his nickname.

Blgs Griz Fan you are a real homie for sure. Facts are facts. Those other QBs were really good but they did not acommplish what DM has done. When you think of all the QBs in the history of the NCAA and your in club of the top 14 that is truly special. The Griz schedule vs. the Cats has been pretty comparable over the last three years. Also you don't seem to grasp the fact that that the GRiz TEAM won the game in Bozeman and the Bobcat TEAM won the two games in Missoula. The TEAMS won the game not JJ or DM.

Except that the 3 he named were all FCS QBs.

DM is a terrific QB. Of that there is little doubt. Where he's open to criticism is his inability (so far) to win big games.

33, I think you are failing to recognize that DM is the major reason the bobcats are in the hunt. He is the competitive edge the cats have. After all "In Denarius We Trust" is the bobcat mantra. I suggest that the cats sit DM and see what happens. Oh wait that has happened and it was not pretty.
DM is a good qb but he is not as good as the cat fans make him out to be. His talents and abilities will be missed next year and long into the future.

The Bobcat TEAM hasn't won a semi-final game during his tenure but they have won big games. I don't think you can say one player is responisble for losing those semi-final games or any game. Football is a TEAM sport! The Griz have lost some big games in JJ's tenure. Are you saying he lost them? I would say your TEAM lost them. Just say'in!

So, you're "just say'in" that the entire cat team is unable to win a big game??

Listen. Like it or not, all QBs are measured by how they play in big games. And whether you like it or not, DM has been a disappointment in most if not all of them. Is it all his fault? Of course not. But it comes with the territory. Once you stick your hands under you center's buttocks, you get the praise and the glory for wins, and the criticism for losses. DM's glaring weakness (again, so far) is his inability to win big games.

Yes the Bobcat TEAM was disapointing in the semi-final games. They have won other big games. The same goes for JJ. I guess you're saying JJs glaring weakness so far is his inability to win big games. I have seen plenty of games where the QB doesn't get the glory for wins or wasn't a big factor. Plenty of RBs have got the glory for wins. Defenses have got the glory for wins. The bottom line is it is the team. In any event, when you put up the numbers he has, you are a top QB!

36-10 means the same thing at 21-16. One was a win for the Griz and the other was a win for the Cats. You're welcome to point out the circumstances of that game, but at the end of the day standings do not account for "close losses" and backup quarterbacks.
