Gianforte doesn't stand a chance. Bullock is the man!

Gianforte is even and about to pull ahead, continuing his steady climb. Want to make a friendly wager?

I'll take you up on that bet. My pockets don't run deep so can't be anything too crazy.

$10 or a few beers. Bullock had a "stalker", known as I "tracker", following Gianforte all day. During the parade. In the tailgates. Taking photos, video. Trying to get close enough to record sound. The stalker couldn't get into the Biz School tailgate, so he kept running up and down the fence looking for us. Pretty funny and very creepy. I guess the tracker follows Gianforte frequently.

I can handle that.

I'm guessing things like that happen regularly during a campaign. Trying to get some insider information.

Did you bust out your go to tickle/gargle trick?

Varona, Horgan, Cahill, both Hancocks, Vella, Hoge, Ciche, Petek, Meyers (lives here), Trini. No Snyder.

Russum and fiance. They were at my lake place today. JD Quinn, looking very good. Houston Stockton.

Colt's parents. Both looking great. Mick Delaney looking great and fit. Walt Brett.

Even Griz son Pete Lazetich. His dad and uncle played for the Griz in the 30's.

Mara Bronson, former Griz runner.

Always good fun at Homecoming.

Bring on the Troll Brigade.

JD Quinn was there? That had to have been a HELL of a party

JD is still here. Had dinner with him last night. Levi Horn came through briefly; it was his birthday.

Ahh yes great teams back then, I still will say Cole B was the best QB we had since the man the myth the legend Dave D was leading the charge. We had a hell of a line in front of Cole back on those teams with Russ, JD, Horn, etc.

Gianforte is about to move ahead in the race, while Bullock flies around in State plane with his commerce dept. director.

When will that story and the pictures hit the media/airwaves?

It already has. See link to story entitled: "Governor Bullock Brought Meg O’Leary to Paul McCartney Concert Instead of First Lady, State Plane Use Questioned". And Kentucky Derby. And China. And maybe Puerto Rico. And .... Well-researched article.

Cole and Russum were at dinner too. JD said that Levi might have been the nastiest of the group. It was interesting listening to them talk about the game in Chatty, when Russum had a bad ankle and not planning to play, and Dyk got hurt and went out. Eventually, JD moved himself from center to guard, and started helping contain the rush. On about the first play he was at guard, the d-tackle started to stunt outside of JD, so that the end Salisbury (?) could loop in. JD did what he had been taught at OK, which was to push the d-tackle out towards Russum at tackle, and then pick up the d-end looping in. JD pushed the guy right to Russum, so he didn't have to move as much on his bad ankle. Russum picked up the d-end That's how they handled it the rest of the game. My wife asked if all players, including me, remember their plays like that. JD said if he played 100 in a game, he would remember all 100 of them. They all agreed that they would have won had Bergquist not gotten the bad thigh bruise in the first half.

Thanks for the insight PR that was a hell of a team, for some reason though the 2008 title game didn't sting as much as the 2009 one when we lost to Villanova.

You cynical bastards. Gianforte would love to endow a couple chairs in 11th century feudal thought with an emphasis on why we should return to it, today ... with him and Lady Gianforte as Lord and Mistress. He’s for education the same way the Koch bros are in support of Public Broadcasting … to twist it to his own twisted ends.

Did he say anything about buying a few miles of the Clark Fork and keeping the unwashed natives off of it so he and Nobodaddy can fly fish without being pestered?

I don't always agree with FB. But when I do, he's right.

Yep. It's Montana, not Colorado. Fuck&r$.

Still going. We were at Reds last night until 11:30. B-Russ, Quinn, Cole. Quinn is staying at my house until this Thursday. I'm buying the food and he's providing the liquor. He doesn't eat much now so I am saving tons of money. Good to see a lot of the guys back for homecoming for sure. They all love Montana and are loyal Griz.

All great players and great guys, glad to hear they are still venturing back home and supporting our current players.

Speaking of old Griz, I chatted with Colin Bingham's dad Guy for a few minutes while we waited for the Griz Walk. He says Colin really likes the team and the experience. When we touched on the topic of this years Griz he said he'd like to see more short yardage pounding of the ball with a FB and some run blocking TE's, real old school stuff, no surprise from an old warrior like him. He repeated that at half-time when I passed him on the way to a tailgate.

During the game I was lucky enough to sit with Josh Janssens grandparents; great people! They were both disappointed that Josh wasn't on the team anymore, they were so proud of his TD's against the Cats and the Cowboys. He is in Bozeman studying engineering and doing well. No intention of becoming a Cat, apparently still considers himself a Griz for life!

Lord, it's a statewide embarrassment that Gianforte is even in the race.

And Gianforte is going to win. He looked good in his Griz shirt. As a former Pennsylvania o-lineman, he was talking to a number of the former Griz o-lineman. They were bigger than he was.

Isn't it a little tasteless when you can buy an office, kind of like the early popes.

Isn't it incredibly horrible when special interest groups and the Democratic Governors Association try to buy a politician and an election. The Dem Gov Assoc has spent millions of dollars on attack ads, most of which contain outright lies. Very despicable. And the Dem Gov Assoc is paying for half of Bullock's campaign staff. Gianforte is not taking PAC money. He is not taking much, if any, Republican Gov Assoc money either, the last I looked.

You may want to reconsider on who's buying the election. Looks like it's the PAC's and Demo Gov Assoc money, which is funded by dark money. I'm much rather have a governor not beholden to PAC's, special interests, and their party's dark money contributors.

Tasteless ... but historically common. I don't follow Montana politics, so I cannot comment on that situation. (Have enough trouble figuring Idaho politics.)

But as a history buff (and writer), I finally decided I could not let this pass. People have been "buying" political offices since there have been political offices.

And, BTW, buying a "popery" is -- in the end -- relatively harmless. For most of two centuries, a person of "proper family" could purchase a commission, or a promotion, in the British army. Despite some mitigating factors, this meant that "well-born gentlemen" could become military officers with virtually no knowledge of military matters or how to lead soldiers. While the U. S. Army (mostly) managed to avoid this, the state militias were pretty much led by wealthy politicians or political appointees. All these guys were, unfortunately, in a position to get people killed through their ineptitude.

BTW, what does this have to do with football?
