Two weeks until the Krak comes to town. I wonder if book reviews will continue to roast this piece of work, and he cancels at the last minute, or Doubleday makes him come in an attempt to dump 490,000 unsold books.

It's simply a publicity stunt, it's marketing. The few interviews I have heard him in recently he is always quick to bring up that he will be coming to Missoula to answer questions. He can only hope some knucklehead that didn't graduate high school will be there decked out in Griz gear from head to toe yelling obscenities. So ya, that will be me.

Seriously though he got the same bug Florio got and with his tunnel vision set out in attempt to destroy Missoula's and the Universities reputation. Any publicity helps. Drama helps even more.

What we can only hope will happen at this forum is a well educated individual with a cool head does his (or her) research ahead of time and confronts Krakauer with well thought out questions regarding this "novel" that contradict the story he has told. I'm certainly not the person for that. Any takers?

Isn't it funny that the person who is attempting to profit from campus sexual assaults is Krakhauer? He has shown up on multiple shows simply to promote his book in hopes of making a bigger profit. Jonathan Krakhauer rode into town, found a legitimate victim of rape, listened to the recorded confession, noted that the assailant went to prison for 10 years, and claimed there is a "rape problem."

He rode into town and found that a popular quarterback had been charged with rape by a likely fabulist, and that a majority women Jury found him not guilty in something like record time including lunch. From that he concluded that the Quarterback was "the Rapist" and that there is a "rape problem."

He rode into town and found a young woman claiming to have been "gang raped," found her own confession that she believed that the young men involved likely believed from her enthusiastic participation that she had consented, and concluded that there is a "rape problem."

He rode into town believing from Florio that there was a "rape problem," but when he finally looked up the statistics and found that Missoula and the University of Montana were below average in the frequency of rapes, he concluded that in order to sell a book on the subject that there HAD to be a "rape problem," since if he concluded that there wasn't, he wouldn't have a book, and he would have wasted a lot of time and money.

Case solved.

Had he not been Jon Krakauer, this book would not have been published. Had he not been Jon Krakauer and had it been published, it would have only received national derision.

PR, the damage has already been done. As much as I want and wish for Krakhauer, AKA Krakwhore to shut up, I hope he continues. Why? I honestly hope his actions come back to bit him in the ass!!! Neither Paoli or Pabst will be suing him. They know they'd lose. Only a non-lawyer would try, because a money hungry lawyer would take their case. It would need to be a very wealthy non-lawyer. Like Trumaine Johnson.
