Ten in a Row

Your comment is exactly why NDSU is different than any other teams. It has never been about one guy. They play as a team. There are very few DB's who could cover Moss.

I never saw a FCS team bring pressure like the 2013 team did from the front 4. You bring pressure from the front 4 and don't allow Moss time to get down field. That entire defense was ridiculously good. Offense would have chewed clock and kept Marshall off the field.

Never said it was about one guy. Marshall was in the NC in 95 without Moss and lost to Montana 22-20. The were a damn good team, and so was Montana.

Add 420@FSU and Moss joins the Thundering Herd

Went to the chipper again in 96 and beat Montana 49-29 and it wasn't even that close. One guy on an already great team makes that much of a difference.

They beat pressure, even the kind of pressure NDSU could bring. Moss didn't need to get downfield. NDSU can bring 8 guys and Kresser/Pennington still get it off to Moss and he burns everybody. They did it all day long, and kept doing it when they moved up and won the MAC the next year.

All I'm saying is the 1996 Thundering Herd would not get beat by all 5 Bison NC teams. Not a knock on the Bison, but the 96 Herd was a special team and there are reasons why they were 15-0, dominated 8 ranked teams in the process, and were ranked #1 each week of the entire season.

If you think that's a dumb question and think the latter option is a no brainer, then you obviously haven't been paying attention, or you don't understand the game, and you don't quite grasp the size of the gap between NDSU and everyone else.

If you've been paying attention, however, you'll realize that the gap between UNDSU and MSU is way, way, way greater than the gap between UNDSU and UM.

Not really. Yep - you beat us this year, congrats.
And last year, and the year before, and like 25 of the last 30, but let's not talk about that . . .

Had you guys [fill in something that didn't happen] . . . would likely have been a different outcome.

Ah, the Ol' Cat Refrain! Love it!

JDoub is 100% right. The FCS used to be much, much stronger. No NDSU team of any year could hang with 1996 Marshall. UNDSU CB #5 against Randy Moss? You're gonna have a bad time.

Not really. Yep - you beat us this year, congrats. We were too inconsistent and obviously we had a terrible defense. You were inconsistent too, and unfortunately for us BG happened to have a great game against us. Had you guys played like you did against NDSU in the playoffs, Cal Poly, Liberty, PSU... would likely have been a different outcome.

Had you guys had a defense with a pulse like those teams perhaps we WOULD have played like that against you. Unfortunately for y'all, your defense mirrors EWU's, not PSU's.

Stupid statement.

Just goes to show that a guy never really knows what's going on beneath the surface of eGriz unless you're a regular and insider. Guys know each other, know why posters "really" post something, etc. Why stupid? I could see the Bison continuing to repeat if they don't move up, which I think they should. Once you start dominating your conference and the FCS year over year, that's a sign that it's probably time. I was thrilled when my Griz beat them, but I'll believe we (or anybody else in FCS) can do it regularly when I see it.

NDSU's 2013 team 15-0 could've beat Marshall and Moss> (I LOVE RANDY MOSS by the way)

NDSU would've put Marcus Williams on Moss with Christian Dudzik over the top bracketing him.

It would've looked just like the NDSU/Kansas State game that year. NDSU ball control the game clock and not letting marshall get into Rhythm.

NDSU had 6-7 NFL players on that roster *and CFL guys*

NDSU 27 Marshall 21
