Have to have an invite from an FBS conference first; don't see it coming in the current landscape (no, you can't go independent). When the Griz move up (with the kitties hanging on the shirt tails), the Bison will follow.....jmho
Bison go first.

NDSU will stay put.

Agree. Department wide, they aren't ready to move up. I think there used to be some kind of attendance requirement for FB that caused UI to play in Martin Stadium while they retrofitted the Kibbie. Not sure if Fargo could meet the standard or not.

Ya dude I don't really care. The Fargodome is an excellent FCS facility. The FCS is where NDSU belongs (along with half of the current FBS teams). The most intimidating environment in the FCS. Call it a gym if it makes you feel better. Teams usually are overwhelmed when they play in it.

Have a good weekend buddy.

Congratulations NDSU. 5 in a row! Wow, that is unprecedented in football.

Now....we did beat you this year. You can call it an anomaly if you like, but it was done, fair and square. We also did just as well as anyone else against you in the palyoffs with a horrible game. We are still here, getting better, and will see you again.

That was a good Griz win, but it was a first game of the season and as we have all seen anything can happen in first games. Lot's of upsets that first week. You are stretching on this!

I don't either. I was just wondering if Fargo could meet the former attendance standard. Not sure what you're on about other than the typical T-Buff fan puffery.

Yeah, UM shouldn't have played that one since it didn't count. How, again, do you get out of a commitment to play a game?

Yes they could but it is irrelevant. They will stay at the FCS.

Yeah, I know. I don't think they have the facilities and support department wide to make the jump. I feel like I've said this before.

I have a lot of respect for UM honoring that contract. NDSU will continue to schedule games against NDSU. MSU will never get another contract to play NDSU.

Well, that's a relief.

Any of the past 5 Bison teams would have crushed 96 Marshall

Cmon man! The Bison are good, but do you honestly believe a bunch of kids less than 5 years old could beat Marshall?

Well, maybe if the game was in the FargoDome...

Well I agree with some of your statements. NDSU (and half the current FBS teams) do belong in FCS. Further, teams are often overwhelmed when they play in the Fargo dome. Though not for the reasons you believe.

Frankly the Fargo dome is little more than an oversized Quonset Hut. Opposing teams are overwhelmed because they fear being unexpectedly run over when some tractor pulls in to park there. Most of those kids aren't familiar with agriculture and the whole swather, bailer, and tractor thing is foreign. Realize large farm equipment can be intimidating. Especially when your rural electric coop turns off the power before each game.

So first build yourselves a nice football stadium. That way you can play games and continue to keep the Ag school equipment inside your barn.

Secondly get a more reliable power company. Losing your electricity before each game is just plain embarrassing. I know No Dakota is quite rural but weekly power outages is very third world and reflects poorly on you.

Glad to help, dude. :ugeek:

Meh it is just fine. North Dakota doesn't allow bonding for college football. NDSU is just finishing a $50M basketball arena funded 100% by private donations and that took a lot of time to raise funds for.

NDSU won't move up to the FBS. Would a 25-30k capacity be nice ? Yes. It is needed to have success at the FCS? No. Montana has arguably the best stadium in the FCS, and has been passed by Eastern Washington, who plays in a glorified high school stadium, as the premiere team in the Big Sky.

Ha! Do they honestly still do the Chicago Bulls lights out thing?

You bet buddy ! Opponents must be blinded by the lights when they turn them back on. Stitt and Gustafson looked like deer in headlights back in December.

That's so cute! Haha! I'll never go to North Dakota for any reason to know for sure, but I bet they play Enter Sandman or some Poison song. Screwy little place.

Great don't go there ever. Been to WaGrizz twice. Awesome stadium. Great fans. Great Gameday environment. Not as intimidating as the environment at the Fargodome. Teams go in there and run into a buzz saw.

Maybe it is. I like watching my team win. They win in the Fargodome. Winning makes any venue great. Fenway Park is a shithole but it sure is fun to watch a team win there.

Washington Grizzly is a great stadium man. Probably the best in the FCS.
