Suspension lifted for ASU's Price & Lott

How can anyone be pissed about this..I am not 100% sure on this, but I thought a couple of years ago that some Griz players had been suspended at the start of the season but did not serve the suspension until a midseason game against Northern Colorado or some team like that. I forget which players they were and who was coaching, I thought one of the players was a transfer tight end that got a DUI in the off-season, maybe one of you folks in the know could tell me who it was and if I am right. I dont care who App has on the field, all I care is that the Griz are gonna be across from App and they will make us proud!

I'm glad you're not all crybabies. :thumb:

Just to be 100% clear though, these two players had NOTHING to do with the sexual assault scandal. Not a fan of how it was done either but just wanted to put that out there. If the reason I heard for the suspension is accurate, it is a very minor infraction. Not that it makes it right but just wanted to make sure the two separate situations don't get thrown together.

As bigkid said, the timing is what bothers me most. If the '2 of 4' rule is there, fine. Kind of a stupid rule but it is what it is. He should have announced on Sunday-Monday that these guys were going to play.

Word on the street is they were smoking the devil's lettuce. If that's unethical, most of the App State student body is hell bound.

Griz game planning comprimised by this 11th hour capitulation......horse pucky!

This 6'5" WR will make the difference against our green corners. Moore is no Mick!

after 20+ years, you'd think coach Moore would have his coach-speak down pat but that's a poor choice of words right thur. I'm glad this happened.

Hey Doctor its not like they were injured so to wait till Thursday to reinstate what YOU call "devil weed smokers" has a certain stench. Quite frankly I personally don't care who is the field but your coach just added a sense of discourse. Oh by the way since you know that most of the appY students smoke pot and you use the prefix Dr. you don't by chance provide do you? Maybe a pregame bong a thong in the appY state locker room. Yes in deed come smoke some weed :thumb: Count the Dr in.

Bottom line in all this is don't abuse the 2 in 4 and create issues right before what is considered an epic football game. Kinda makes ya'all look desperate.

I couldn't care less what they do. The bottom line is, their suspensions were all in-house stuff and they are free to handle it how they want. It isn't like they ran afoul of the law, it was team rules and I think they can do what the team wants with them. A total non-issue as far as I am concerned. :twocents:

Can't believe this is happening. Getting to pick and choose which games a player is suspended for is bullshit. Defeats the purpose of disciplining a player. I would be disappointed if we ever went this route.

So you were upset about the way the Montana kids suspension for the DUI was handled last year

Zach Minter

:bs:

POSSIBLY smoking pot isn't running "afoul" of the law? I agree that the bottom line is to go out a control the line of scrimmage which I think we can but why not irritate a bit. Speaking of irritation.......never mind!

How App State, MSU or whoever handles team discipline and ethics is of no concern to me. I expect the Griz to take the high road every time and that discipline will be comensurate with the offense and NEVER be dictated by whether we will win a game or not. I want the Griz to win every game with unimpeachable ethics and sportsmanship. If another team decides they want to selectively manage their team persona based on other motivations, so be it.

Reminds me of a Steven Wright bit:

I went down the street to the 24-hour grocery.
When I got there, the guy was locking the front door.
I said, 'Hey, the sign says you're open 24 hours.'
He said, 'Yes, but not in a row.'

This really hard for me but

And what "penalty" did he serve?

although, had the original punishment been 2 games but we but our 2nd game was against someone really good so ash lifted it for a game my guess is people would have questions.

believe it was the first quarter or first half against chadron.

Not sure if you're being serious or not but Minter's name was being called alot in that first qrtr/half. I don't really care if he was punished or not...just trying (unsuccessfully) to make a point with Capt. Hypocrite, aka 2506. :thumb:

don't think he played in the first quarter. might have in the 2nd though which is why i said i didn't remember if it was a quarter or half. but he's my sons favorite player and definitely wasn't out there the first quarter.

i try to stay away from these topics as well as they are stupid. and while i see why this move by app raises some eyebrows, it really doesn't matter either. they have a 2 out of 4 rule which i think is asinine in itself. but that rule leaves the door open i guess.

one other thing to consider, though i doubt anyone here will buy it. but because none of us know for sure what the penalty was what if it isn't that the coach wants these guys against the griz....but rather he doesn't think whatever they did warrants missing both the SEASON opener on the road as well as the HOME opener which are both huge games for the college athlete. he might feel that they deserve to miss 2 games, but missing 2 of the biggest games of the year isn't fair. i'm completely guessing....but pointing out that we just don't know.

I agree...I would like to see these kids play, as well.
