Suspension lifted for ASU's Price & Lott

Seems suspicious to me. A policy of suspension for 2 of the first 4 games? That's innovative, and doesn't sound like it would or should fly. And some thought UM's one quarter suspension was unique. Also, announcing a two-game suspension through the Montana game, and then deciding to do something else? App St poster hasn't heard of this? Hum? I now see the linked article. App St coach must be worried about the game to do something like that. Wouldn't happen or fly at Montana.

S#%^ is getting crazy when I agree completely with PR. App St creating and jumping through their own loopholes. Just lost quite a bit of respect for Appy and yeah I said Appy.

To be fair, APP lost two starters vs ECU, and this is their home-opener. Not to mention, WE ARE MONTANA, coming into THEIR house, and both programs have been anticipating this game for quite some times. After all the trouble we've had in the past couple seasons, I don't think we should be throwin stones here. It is what it is.....Just sayin

Coach Moore caved in. Plain and simple. He just couldn't take it knowing the Griz has a good shot at winning and basically said manipulation out weighs integrity. Win at all cost is alive and well at App State!

Meh.

The one thing I don't want to hear or read is excuses why the Griz lost because of those two players.

I could give a crap about excuses. If each team wanted, they could make excuses. Griz with new coach, O and D coordinator, quarterback, etc. And App St had a tough offseason as well.

I'm just saying that cherry-picking which games to suspend players by sprinkling them throughout a season against weaker competition speaks a lot about the character of the program. This is far worse than suspending players a quarter for something that was later dropped.

Apology Accepted.

Let me ask you a question or two. Has this EVER happened at UM? Would it happen or fly at UM today? If you don't want to answer the questions, that's fine. However, please spare us any BS.

Nobody said we were gonna lose but Moore's timing is just a bit suspect especially in theses times of scrutiny. Basically he held them out for games of one a zero meaning and two a scrum. OOOO that hurt! If he wasn't gonna send a message in the first place then don't, but to go against your own grain shows that yes winning is at a premium.

Huh? Win or lose, I doubt you will or would have heard these two players as the reason. Unless you got something on these guys under wraps.
:?

I must admit it does seem like a loophole. Maybe the infraction was minor-- late for team meeting or something lame like that. We'll never know.

People generally want to place blame for a loss on anything they can find, especially a close one.

Im not gonna lose too much respect for App over this, but it does seem like a cheap move on Moore's end. Why should he be able to pick which games a player sits out? If you want to make the penalty count, you suspend the players for the next 2 games after the infraction, regardless of what games are on the schedule. Im sure it isnt the first time this has been done in college football and wont be the last, but just seems like a situation where winning takes the lead over rules.

Win at all costs?

If you know the reason that they were in trouble with the coaches in the first place, please enlighten me. Honestly, I am not a fan of how it was done either but without knowing what these kids did, that is a bit extreme.

One things for sure, It will be a long time before the coach is blamed for being a man of integrity, unless it's a punch line of a stupid joke?

A midnight decision of this nature deserves a very harsh critisizm. If you put lipstick on a pig its still a pig!
This is the type of crap that gives football a bad rap and believe me when I say we know all about it. Suspensions are served to send a messsage not manipulate to advantage. What a joke!

I will spare you any BS, and readily admit that I have no clue if anything similar has happened at UM. I do know that we are currently being investigated by the NCAA and DOJ, ostensibly for violations of some kind, which is why I still contend that we are in NO position to be throwing stones here.

Seems fitting both teams will be close to full strength. Should make for an epic contest. May the best team win....no excuses.

Seems to me Canada's infraction was relatively minor, but Delaney didn't decide to go easy on him simply because there's a tough game on the horizon. Moore seems like the kind of guy who would do the same, but oh well. You play the team put in front of you.

Are you trying to get some good karma for the Griz? Your comments are a little too cautious and tame for this Board.
