8. The woman at party thought it was Strong's brother's cousin, and thought he played for Montana St. She said one of the guys had an injury to the eye and lip.

you need to skim more.

said it was Marcus Strongs (WSU CB) cousin, meaning that the thug must be Marcus's cousin.

She knew he played for a Montana school so assumed MSU

Yes, isn't that what I said: Strong's (Justin) brother's cousin. Strong's brother is apparently Marcus Strong.

My read is that WSU kid was getting in a fight(s) with someone. Strong tried to break it up. The WSU sucker punched Strong and ran off. Strong ran after him to teach him a lesson, and cracked his skull in the process. Strong started off doing the right thing, but will end up with career ending legal case.

I don't know anything more than what is on this website.

Judging by this article alone, if its true... it sounds like that WSU kid started something he couldn't finish... not giving Strong a free pass... he should have walked away... i hope the kid is OK...but witnesses say they saw him strike first... If you strike first, then put your hands up... doesn't mean you don't deserve to get hit.. can't call a "timeout" in the middle of a fight you started...

Also it says strong was not under the influence . . . that has to help his case a little

Ya it also doesnt sound good either tho...his injuries make it sound like more than two punches thrown to the head???

Not good...

While there are differences in testimony in here...seems like pretty good chance Strong and others chased the "victim" out of the house and down the street. Self Defense?

This whole thing sucks.

maybe the dude wont press charges since he was the one who started it... the witnesses concur on that...either way... shitty deal

Stranger things have happened. In college, I got into a fight with a kid and I pretty much started it. but that kid ended up busting a glass mug across my face slicing my neck open very close to my carotid artery. We still ended up wrestling around for a while when I realize I was almost bleeding to death. Went to the ER and as they were burning my wound shut the cops showed up and wanted me to press charges and give them all of the details. I told them not to worry about it because I threw the first punch. The other kid came in shortly after me to get his lip stitched up. Nothing more ever became of it

And thats called the 70s lolol

A witness says he believes the head injury came when the guy hit the roadway, not from a punch.

Yes, if the guy stopped, turned back at them, put up his fists, acted threatening, and was a big guy.

I have never experienced a man be so scared that he runs from something or someone..than decides to stop and just put his hands up....

I do not buy that is what actually happened.

Also wondering about the dreads...Strongs brother does not have dread, at least according to the team website.
None of our players from Washington currently have dreads according to the team website.

The affidavit of one of the witnesses said he was running away and they reached the corner of Lybecker and NE Stadium Way when Meyring turned around and put his hands up. They could've had him cornered in and he was exhausted from running. People that don't run on a regular basis do get tired especially when you have a D1 cornerback chasing you...

Where did you get that last piece about the second hit being the cause? I’m curious

I think it says falling to the ground after the first hit is what probably cracked his skull. That is a very serious condition.

The affidavit is kind of damning. Whitnesses and a confession. At the very best, Strong is going to be off the team. It saddens me to see a young life (possibly two) ruined over a house party fight. It’s stupid. If Strong is charged and convicted, he will never lead a normal life. He will have a felony on his record. Worse, a violent felony. Most employers will not hire him for anything. Not to mention he would be expelled. Most colleges have trouble having violent felons as students. If this sticks... it’s a true tragedy. Another wasted young life.

It isn't really a confession. As I said earlier, what Strong "confessed" to will be trumped if he and his witnesses have a strong recollection of the self-defense elements.

I know this didn't occur, but if the WSU guy swung first, and Strong then decked him with one punch, and the guy fractured his skull when he hit the roadway, then there's no assault of any degree for Strong.

One more thing, there are players on WSU that do have dreads. Look at their roster, it's pretty easy to see. Also, we have no idea if the person with dreads was a football player, could've been a friend.

The chasing part...you are not defending yourself if you are chasing them. But, admittedly - I have no friggin clue. Pissed these guys are in this predicament, including the dude in the hospital.

I was saying Griz players from washington.....regardless...not the best way to guess who it could have been lol.

Bottom line chased after him...not self defense to run after a "threat". He is screwed and maybe others as well.

Too bad all around could impact his younger brother. Their older brother Victor Butler played in the NFL and still plays in Canada. Lot's of football in the family.

Anybody know anything about the $50k "bail" after he was already released?

Prolly he was released with an order to appear Monday morning, where bail was set. If he would have skipped the Monday appearance he'd be a fugitive.
