Are you sayin'.....that some coaches aren't.....hired to win games....

Third and long said:Speaking of Ron Richards if you recall he was relieved of play calling duties after an opening 10-9 loss to Hofstra. Billy Cockhill took over as play caller. Stitt would be a mediocre offensive coordinator at his best

Look at all these Griz fans that are still so delusional about the team.Blgs Griz Fan said:Stitt was given the keys to the Cadillac
Wrong the decline happened after Hauck left. If you want proof just look at our conference record, conference championships and playoff success with Hauck and after he left. We have had the coaches and it's not even close.Silvertip said:Take a moment to see where the current decline in the Griz began - that fateful morning when Engstrom axed Pflugrad and resorted to a hire made primarily on convenience - Mick Delaney. Not Mick's fault. He's a nice guy, but unless you're hanging the mounting debacle strictly on Stitt & Company he's playing with a large contingent of Mick's recruits - some of whom have proven to be marginal performers. A check of Mick's coaching resume suggests his recruiting abilities were woefully weak. And he'd probably admit it over a beer.

Actually, false.

So he's does not have his guys yet? after more than 20 guys left the program? Thats damn near 1/3 of our scholarships. He has very good material better than most. This I need to have "my guys" is a weak excuse. Bohl has been in Wyoming 2 years & has completely transformed that program!
daGrizJ said:I'm not happy with the result of yesterday's game or this season but, there is much over reaction here. A coaches job is to get his palyers in position to make plays. Stitt's offense does that consistently.
A coach does not fumble snaps that are returned for TDs. A coach does not drop easy, sure TD passes. A coach does not panic in the pocket, miss wide open WRs in the end zone and try to run. (Allthough Chalich did pick up several key first downs.) A coach does not overthrow WRs in the endzone. A coach does not miss easy field goals or EPs. A coach does not get penalties that hurt drives. A coach does not drop perfect passes. A coach does not miss blocks (O line) or tackles. A coach does not fumble in the redzone. These are all things a coach has no control over in any particular game. And, no most of the key players on this team are not Stitt's recruits. All of this and with one defensive stop at the end the Griz win. I expect better things out of this coaching staff in the next two years when their classes mature. Until then they have my full support.

That doesn't do anything for special team performance, WRs not getting separation nor the defensive disarray we have been observing. Better OL play is a start; it's not almost ALL.AZGrizFan said:fanofzoo said:Yes his guys are coming but I don't sense a change in the style of play and there in lies the rub.
Almost ALL of this is cured with a better performing O-line. All the skill players in the world don't do you any good if you don't have time to get them the ball....I believe the next two years will see significant improvement in the O-line, and thus the team performance--especially in the Red Zone....
The Pac 12 and CFB could put a lot of pressure on UW to buy out the Griz game and schedule someone competitive. Scheduling tough teams is now expected. It has hurt Washington this year.kemajic said:With a new QB. UDub and EWU in Sept.uofmman1122 said:That said, Stitt's leash just got several feet shorter in regards to next year.
