I can't offer any name that, reasonably, would be better at this point in time. I just don't try and justify that opinion on unsupportable hyperbole. I know you don't understand the difference.signedbewildered said:75......... "I'm all in favor of Bob Stitt as coach at UM."

So, Brint, are you saying Stitt is an offensive genius?BWahlberg said:Three things Bob Stitt did that Bobby Hauck didn't do in his first year as Griz HC:

UMGriz75 said:I consider accusing someone of "hatred of all things Stitt," to arise from the fact that your little buttercup ears can't even handle an objective discussion of his track record. Yes, frothing and foaming and calling me "Mr Simis" definitely exposes your agenda: anyone that remotely says anything objective about Bob Stitt must be vilified and accused of base motives: outright "hatred."HookedonGriz said:1. If that's your version of a vehement personal attack, man are you a sheltered human being. I'll look for some participation ribbons and some victim cards to make you feel better Sally.
2. You didn't end your statements in a positive, remember how you do that so that you're never wrong. Come on you're failing me.
Seriously? You get that from an objective discussion of his record? A mild dissent from the hyperbole of "offensive genius?"
"Hatred" is not just an offensive perjorative, it says much more about the way you think and feel, than it does any objective assessment that anybody makes of Stitt's actual record: you know, the reality that actually exists outside of your overflowing emotional snowflake state of mind. Your comments are obviously designed to change the subject -- the thread topic -- to a purely ad hominem exchange based, interestingly enough, on your own foaming and frothing hatreds. As I noted, I am sure Peyton will get right on it. He hates it when people do that.
Do you think the bountiful and ongoing criticisms of Coach Delaney or John Nguyen arose from "hatred?"
If so, there is probably something wrong with you. I think your comments here prove it.
Good grief. How old are you actually?HookedonGriz said:Brrrrrrrr brrrrrrr brrrrrrrr Debbie! Oh and thanks for making my eyes bleed with your endless babble.

Who cares about all of that?! I'm more interested in what he did at his last job than what he's done or will do here.

If you just read a little between the lines of all this babble. You see where he states that Stitt is an offensive genius, the best Coach we could possibly have....and had to shovel the rubble out of the house.
He continues to refer to Stitt as a $300,000.00 dollar coach! Right?
So, he must believe Coach Stitt both won the National championship Last year and will do so every year from here on out......

By the time some posters get done with his actual record, he will not only have already won the next five national championships, he will have won the last five, retroactively.Bear Axed said:He continues to refer to Stitt as a $300,000.00 dollar coach! Right?

Well, don't get too carried away there with that "hyperbole" thing; it's not like the NFL and FBS were trying to hire him. Or are you suggesting that?BWahlberg said:I have no reason to believe he isn't. I assumr NFL and top FBS coaches don't seek out the opinions of mediocre coaches.
Point well taken. The OP described Stitt as "one of the best offensive minds." It was billingsgriz that applied the "genius" word. I can accept the "mind" label, proven by interest of other coaches in his thinking, which you state. Whether or not that translates into his being a genius has to be proven on the field and by his record. At any rate, I'm glad he's the Griz head coach.BWahlberg said:Grizzoola said:So, Brint, are you saying Stitt is an offensive genius?BWahlberg said:Three things Bob Stitt did that Bobby Hauck didn't do in his first year as Griz HC:

He comfortably earned over $300,000 without winning an NC. If he does win one (or more) he'll be closer to being a $400,000 a year coach.Bear Axed said:He continues to refer to Stitt as a $300,000.00 dollar coach! Right?

But, you are knowledgeable. I always enjoy your analyses and appreciate the time you put in on them. Stitt now has had a full year at the helm of a major FCS school. And, unlike generic media commentary, you have specific observational information available to you on a play-by-play basis. What are the top ten plays, games, or strategies that you have identified that Montana used this past season that stand out as "offensive genius" quality? And why?
By that, I don't mean statements such as "We don't lose in Our House," or "My offense can beat any defense." But, actual tangible events on the field. If there is something to the hyperbole, let's hear it!
My last appearance on Bobcat Nation, pointing to some objective statistical analysis involving MSU, was not greeted ... quite so warmly.Teton Cat said:Keep up the good work.....your fast becoming my favorite Griz poster
Sometimes facts can be positive, and not even considered "hype". I'm sure you annoy the shit out of Havre because the only kind of "objective" "facts" you tend to recite ad nauseam in relation to Stitt are the negative ones. Unless you think Haslam is a complete buffoon, I'll bet there were some down right positive "facts" related to Stitt's coaching history that would make him worth hiring. But, who knows, maybe ol Haslam himself got himself wrapped up in the "hype".UMGriz75 said:I think I come in second to your obsession with my posts. Mostly, those are just facts, a reasonably dry recitation of them, indeed, that is probably what actually offends you: the "hype" is missing. And the "hype" is what obsesses you. There are reasonable expectations made of coaches, based on real records, and unreasonable expectations made of coaches, based on "hype" -- a "hype" generated often enough by media persons such as yourself trying to create a "story." And that's fine, and "hype" is kind of what drives some sports fans. I'm just not a fan of it myself. The biggest headache for a good coach is unreasonable expectations created by people like you. On the other hand, "hype" such as the thread link brings attention to UM, although I'm not sure of the qualifications of whoever made the assessment. But, it surely can't hurt the program or recruiting.havgrizfan said:Holy moly you are obsessed like nothing I've ever seen on this board
