Career college stats show he has 64 carries for 88 yards, 1.3 yards per carry. What am I missing? (Besides a brain, or a life... I'll save all the snarkers\smart assess the trouble of posting that).
You missing what Fife has done this fall, last summer and last spring. You are missing what his OC is saying about him. You are looking at old news stats.

You are missing that Mellott is 60% in the past 3 years and Fife is 70%. You no are missing that Fife has started 6 FBS games, and Mellott none. You missing that Fife has had good coaching and Mellott hasn’t. You are missing knowledge of the game of football.

Ha! Well it looks like you're happy that Fife is your QB, and Cat fans are happy that Mellot is ours - so it's all good.

The difference is that I and most of us don’t diss your qb, but you feel the need to diss ours.

It's a chronic disease that most cat fans have where they must insert themselves into every discussion about the Griz. No one was even talking about the cats at all in this thread until poorgriz decided to trash Fife.

The fact that we will probably have the best O-Line and running backs in the FCS so the need for a running quaterback probably is not relevant.

Watched about 30 minutes of practice. All 3 looked good. Ah Yat got first nod and the most reps but all threw the ball well. Fontes looked really good. Opponents will have to pick their poison with Jr., White, Grossman and Fontes. All 4 are capable of a monster game. Plus anyone of the backs. Watched some OL drills. Looks way deeper than any year I can remember since Bobs first go around . People are forgetting about Freitas long with all those others mentioned. He’s a large human that can move.

With all due respect Jack, more than half this board has called Mellott a RB that can’t pass. If that’s not a diss on a QB, idk what is.
Mellott is a great runner and a weak passer. Most of his game is running and running the team. Saying those things about him is not a diss. Pointing out that stat, and not supplying other info about, Fife is a diss. Your posting ability is right up there with Poor.

Fife seems more turnover prone. I’d say Ah Yat, but Bobby likes them old.
In 2022, Fife came in against USC and was 11-12. Against UConn he was 16-22 with 2 picks. Against Boise St was 14-25 with 2 picks. Against SJS 24-22 with1 pick. Against UNM was 19-29 with 1 pick.

84-120, or 70%. 6 picks.

I think 8 picks in 3 seasons.

I don't think Bobby likes them old. Bergquist started as a frosh. What young one did Bobby ever overlook?

lol, ya - I've never heard griz fans say Tommy is just a running back playing QB, shitty passer, and fragile. Sounds like dissing to me. All I asked about Fife was, what am I missing when people say he's good and going to be the next starting QB for the Montana grizzlies with 6 TDs and 9 INTs, averaging 1.3 yards per carry in his college career. We'll see.

Again, Tommy is a great runner, weak passer, and missed a number of games last season and the season before. Didn’t play in 3 games last season and was hurt in others. Not a diss like your BS.

Many like myself compliment Tommy frequently.

Fife is good and has started multiple FBS games. 11-12 against USC is pretty good,
don’t you think. 70% passing is very good.

Let’s see how big you are talking about your first game.

When are you going to start making excuses because some of your all-world o-line is injured? How many games until Mellott gets hurt?
