Special Uniforms?

I would think thrown backs would be saved for a home game. I also think that the kittens would say NO! didn't we tell them no when they wanted to wear some yellow pee colored uniforms?

If I remember the rule right, you can wear whatever the hell you want but if you're not in the standard home/away you would get a 15 yard penalty on the opening kickoff and 2nd half kickoff. Correct me if I am wrong here. It's been a while

The issue was that the Cats wanted to wear a non-standard white away jersey that UM would not allow. The penalty is correct, 15 yards at the beginning of each half. Each team can wear whatever they want as long as they follow the dark/colored home, white away jersey restrictions. Of course, you can change this with agreement between each school before the game. This is why USC and UCLA can both wear home darks during their annual game.

Cats wanted to wear their new piss yellow jerseys that year, not white. That was the problem then. We can wear whatever white jerseys we want.

We could go back to the old White with copper numbers and stripes. Gold helmets.....

Today I've heard all sorts of rumors in the athletic dept. I honestly have no idea. If I had a guess I'd say most likely what we wore in 2011. But I know that cats will wear their blue specialty helmets and such. I've heard grumblings about the uniforms never seen. Sounds like some sort of throw back combo utilizing stickers and maybe another jersey...don't think its an away combo tho

Yup, as long as the Griz wear white tops, they can be anything they want. MSU would have no say.

Case in point, a visiting team needs to get the home teams AD to approve anything that's not a white "road" jersey. In 2010 MSU asked (late) if they could wear gold jerseys to WaGriz. The AD said no, and the cats were forced to wear their usual white jerseys. Of course that kind of backfired on them as it was used as a motivating factor in the game, MSU won the game. Afterwards they busted out the yellow jerseys and danced paraded them around the field.

No they didn't wear the "throwback" colors (Copper & Gold). That year the team wore those accursed Halloween Pumpkin colors (black & orange). :ugeek:

Omg I said the university had them I said nothing about using them this weekend. Hence why I said I don't think its an away combo. Wow

I'll let you in on a little secret. They're wearing military camo-style outfits, with things like "Duty," "Honor" and "Country" on the backs instead of their names. Don't tell anyone!

In my opinion, today's kit was the best of the year.

The pants and helmets matching was sweet!

Loved the combo too. Brought back memories of the 09 game in Bobcat Stadium. That was the first time the Griz wore silver pants with the white tops since the beatdown they gave the Cats in 07'...... Seems to be a good trend.

Have to say though, it wasn't the first time the helmets matched the pants this season. Griz wore the maroon helmets with maroon pants several times.
