some particular folks down the street (with an unshoveled walk) have quite the lifted pickup with snowmobiles in the back and "don't tread on me" plates. laziness doesn't follow party lines.
Well there's a difference between plain ol' laziness and believing someone else will take care of everything for them.
One's a personality trait...the other is a learned expectation... :mrgreen:
True story: On December 30, 1990 after a very romantic dinner at a Phoenix restaurant, my girlfriend (at the time) and I walked out onto the veranda overlooking the city. I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She didn't answer "Yes" or "No". Instead, she said "Do you have any plans of ever moving back to Montana?" I answered "Nope" and so she said "then my answer is YES!" See, she was born and raised in Missoula and had no desire to go back to that weather--and 27 years later we still haven't moved back (despite me trying very hard a couple times to change her mind). We GO back often, but usually in the summer or early in the football season....
Sorry, but I would take Missoula over Phoenix 100 times out of 100.

I spent the better part of 15 years stationed in the south Pacific, temp hardly ever below 85 above. Then Uncle sent me to the Arctic Circle for One year, boy was that a wake up! Then I got to re-warm in central California for a couple years before coming to Great Falls. I believe I like heat a lot more than cold. Especially the older I get. The damn wind in Great Falls is horrific! Just a few more years and I can go south for the winters...
Guess it's a good thing we aren't all alike- or we'd all be crowded into one tiny spot. A few years ago, we spent six weeks in January and February with our trailer in New Mexico and Arizona. We would have come home sooner if we hadn't been visiting our daughter. Just NOT our corner of the world.reinell30 said:

Nope. We were 6 below this morning, and it didn't get above 15 today. The sun has been shining which is slowly starting to melt the roads and roofs. But like George F, my backyard will also probably have quite a bit of snow through a good chunk of April too.

This is my first winter in Havre. I am from Western Montana so this has been another beast. People told me it would be cold here but never imagined it being this constant and this much snow. My boss keeps telling me this is the worst winter in ages but still it is my first impression. At this rate, I don't think Spring will come until late May or June.
