On the hills around town, 2-5" still on the ground. Down in town, snow is mostly gone except for piles/drifts.

Must be nice. The older I get the more I hate this white S%$t! We have around a foot or more over here.
So they should haven't any issues at practice...
I'm with you. Growing up in Butte and going to college in snow country, I learned to hate it with each passing winter. Now, nothing can be finah than to be in Carolina.....it rains here...a lot.

running out of places to put it here in Brozeman. its amazing how many transplant yuppies won't shovel their sidewalks. almost like the realtor told them that someone would take care of it for them.

Gee, which cross section of America believes the government will take care of everything for them? :D :D

some particular folks down the street (with an unshoveled walk) have quite the lifted pickup with snowmobiles in the back and "don't tread on me" plates. laziness doesn't follow party lines.

Well there's a difference between plain ol' laziness and believing someone else will take care of everything for them. ;) ;) One's a personality trait...the other is a learned expectation...

I think Bobby is preparing his guys for their #RTD, which includes games through Christmas. Many have yet to experience it.

True story: On December 30, 1990 after a very romantic dinner at a Phoenix restaurant, my girlfriend (at the time) and I walked out onto the veranda overlooking the city. I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She didn't answer "Yes" or "No". Instead, she said "Do you have any plans of ever moving back to Montana?" I answered "Nope" and so she said "then my answer is YES!" See, she was born and raised in Missoula and had no desire to go back to that weather--and 27 years later we still haven't moved back (despite me trying very hard a couple times to change her mind). We GO back often, but usually in the summer or early in the football season....

Sorry, but I would take Missoula over Phoenix 100 times out of 100.
My daughter went to grad school in the Phoenix area; there for 2 1/2 years. The day she left, she posted a photo of the rearview mirror in her car, and said, "There's Phoenix in my rearview mirror. I hope I never see it again in my life" -- and she headed north.

5.5 million people would disagree with you. PERFECT weather 9 months out of the year. The other three I'd live in Bigfork.

Pretty tough to beat that heat in Arizona...sometimes it may be a little warm in summer but a good AC can take care of that easier than a heater can warm you in Montana...

I despise heat, and I don't like desert much better. I find anything over 80 degrees unbearable. I could never live in Arizona.

I spent the better part of 15 years stationed in the south Pacific, temp hardly ever below 85 above. Then Uncle sent me to the Arctic Circle for One year, boy was that a wake up! Then I got to re-warm in central California for a couple years before coming to Great Falls. I believe I like heat a lot more than cold. Especially the older I get. The damn wind in Great Falls is horrific! Just a few more years and I can go south for the winters...

Guess it's a good thing we aren't all alike- or we'd all be crowded into one tiny spot. A few years ago, we spent six weeks in January and February with our trailer in New Mexico and Arizona. We would have come home sooner if we hadn't been visiting our daughter. Just NOT our corner of the world.

Air Force, eh? I have a good friend doing your same whirlwind right now. He's been in Great Falls, somewhere in NoDak, Santa Maria, Guam, and now Fort Collins. Going back to Guam in a month. Great guy. Also, thanks for your service, if I haven't told you lately.

Guam is one of the best places ever...biggest surprise I had travelling.

I don't doubt it. I've never been, but I'd bet my shack that there is no snow on the ground there.

I was in Missoula yesterday and there is none on the ground. Decent March weather in the mid to high 30s. Quite the difference when I came back up to Havre.

Havre, has it got above freezing yet.

Nope. We were 6 below this morning, and it didn't get above 15 today. The sun has been shining which is slowly starting to melt the roads and roofs. But like George F, my backyard will also probably have quite a bit of snow through a good chunk of April too.

Call me when the gophers come out.

I took some trash to the dump at Fresno on a sunny day last week and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a gopher scurry across the snow packed road...they're probably getting spring fever too.

This is my first winter in Havre. I am from Western Montana so this has been another beast. People told me it would be cold here but never imagined it being this constant and this much snow. My boss keeps telling me this is the worst winter in ages but still it is my first impression. At this rate, I don't think Spring will come until late May or June.
