Sac State Roll Call

Weather onDonner will be in the upper 60’s this afternoon and lower 50’s this evening. I’m in Reno Friday morning 7:52 am local time.

I mean, these are our neighboring CSUs that don't have D1 Sports, let alone a football team. I don't hate it - i think they're sending party busses, will probably end up being a hundred more butts.

They also have input at the CSU Board of Trustees which votes on our facility improvement projects, bonds, etc. So, I don't mind having that relationship. It's not like they're bringing in busses from Fresno.

I mean it’s kinda pathetic when you consider their student body is 30k and they apparently can’t get enough of them to go. Sure I guess whatever it takes to fill the stadium, but I bet you those kids don’t give two shits about Sac State. They’re going for the concert after.

So? Are you now calling everyone that doesn't like football pathetic? Funny how two independent things, enrollment and game attendance, seem to be a meaningful basis for the argument.

Ok how do you think Griz fans would feel if we had to call on Tech and Western students to come help fill Wa-Griz? People would be saying the same thing about us.

And no I’m not calling those people pathetic. I’m just clarifying why they’re going to be there.

I totally get why a bunch of probably broke college students would want to get on a party bus and go to a free football game and concert. And I get why the university is doing it. Their football program can't generate enough interest on its own so they have to go full circus to drum up enough attention. But from Griz fans perspective, I also think it looks desperate. And desperate is just never a good look for anybody or anything.

Only because Griz fans use attendance as a BSC and FCS measuring stick. But in reality, you are trying to use an apple to oranges comparison. If UM's historical attendance was so poor they needed to do this to fill the stands, no one else would care.

I think griz poster's use of attendance to talk bad about FCS and other BSC schools is fucking stupid and wish it would stop. The attendance only matters to griz fans, maybe state fans, and absolutely not a single other person.

And for 99% of FCS schools, this is why they think Griz fans are pompous asses.

Obviously other schools care. Obviously Sac State cares. If they didn't they wouldn't be doing all this stuff to try to get butts in the seats. So your argument is kind of flawed.

And maybe you're right and Griz fans shouldn't puff their chests up about our game attendance, but since we're not winning any championships lately we've got to have something to hang our hat on. We're proud of the university, of the facilities, of the football team itself, and of the number of fans who come out each week during football season to scream and yell for the Griz. We're proud that the North end zone crazies can cause other teams to false start. Maybe it's stupid but it's what we've got. If none of it mattered then the Big Sky conference wouldn't have to have a rule that at least one of the ESPN games per year doesn't feature MSU or the Griz.

And if you're going to be continuously annoyed about the things people say on eGriz then you're just going to be continuously annoyed. Life is just too short to be constantly mad about what people say on here.

Sac only cares because the Prez is attempting to puff his chest out to the bully. This is more a Wood vanity exercise.
