Sac State Roll Call

This is laughable
Is it though? What has Griz attendance done other than let people like you use it to make every other FCS school look deficient? More Championships? Move to FBS? What? Griz football has barely more championships in the last decade than UNC. In many ways, maybe we should be ashamed so little has been accomplished compared to the attendance.

Attendance means tickets sold which means money for the school.
large attendance also makes it fun for athletes and even visiting fans.
So attendance is important if you look at home field advantage, game day experience, and profit.
otherwise who cares right??
Yeah exactly. How would the university have money to fund all the good things they do for not only football, but also all the other sports, if 26,000 fans weren't showing up to every football home game?

And the fan base would dwindle down to almost nothing and then e-griz would be filled with posters who complain because nobody shows up to games and the program sucks.

Meh. I'll take the current reality and the fact that everybody else thinks we're "pompous asses".

How do other BSC schools fund sports without 26,000 attendance?

In some cases they have more/other funding that Montana does not have, in other cases they underfund certain sports IE Portland State football. How Montana funds their athletic program has nothing to do with how other schools fund theirs. If it did, Montana could move up tomorrow.

Wait, schools have other funding methods?

Not necessarily
So Portland state and northern Colorado have tens of thousands of fans that just don’t show up to games? There is a reason that certain programs have not had sustained success at this level and others seem to in the mix more often and still a few others consistently competitive.

Bigger fan base=bigger donor base, and for the Montana schools attendance=$$$. May not be as important in states that subsidize their program like the California schools.
