But if inside information was posted on a message board, wouldn't it already be public? What would the point be of having a staff member join anonymous message boards to report back to the coach the crap that is spewed on these boards? Doesn't make sense to me.

Because they can then put in additional controls.

Only speaking for myself, it's very rare that I get any information off these boards that I didn't already hear about from people I actually talk to. This isn't a PR humble brag that I know more than others. It's just that Bozeman and Missoula are still small towns in the grand scheme of things as it pertains to our teams. We both have deep pocket guys that know everything there is to know about this team. And if we're not one of these guys ourselves, we likely know someone who is. Word travels. That will always be the case.

I just can't see our staff using resources this way. I could think of 100 duties I'd rather have these guys doing; even interns, before it'd be reading message boards to see what is talked about. You have me intrigued now though. I'm going to do some digging. :?

I consider myself relatively in the know, and I get information fairly often here about the Griz. That's one of the reason I like egriz. There are about a dozen posters who often have info, and are reliable.

He usually does, but there is important info in Griz nation from the athletic dept., big donors, the president, parents, players, and former players. Sometimes the BOR.
