"We never lose in our house" -- Sttit had just boldly announced after the NDSU game -- leading to some amusement after Cal Poly, "Who's "We" Kemosabe?"PlayerRep said:So a very good Coastal team beat UM by 7, with UM outgaining Coastal 557 yards to 476, and you think that loss is "beyond humiliation" and "handing the Griz their arses"? Hum, get we'll have to disagree on that one. UM just had a terrible last 6.5 minutes of the 2d quarter, when they gave up 3 TD's.
UM put up 459 yds of offense (mostly passing) to 386 yds for Cal Poly (mostly on the ground), while UM managed three fumbles and three interceptions on the way to the all-important 92 plays, while failing to convert any of the three fourth down attempts. That handed Cal Poly one of just three conference wins the entire season (.375), while Cal Poly scored third worst in the conference in scoring defense and barely nudged out by NAU as the absolute worst in the conference in passing defense. Losing to Coastal Carolina is someone complaining about?
Our Defense did keep Cal to 20 points, compared to their season average of 34 points, so there was that ....
On the other hand, that 2013 Second Round run by UM against Coastal Carolina was a 42-35 loss at home but in 2013 as with 2014, CC was in the finals against NDSU.
Compared to losing to Cal Poly, "at home," it was "far from humiliation" whereas the loss this year to Cal Poly ... is the definition of "humiliation."
How about you contrast it to when a Delaney-coached team lost to Cal Poly by TWENTY?
