Reese is coming

I agree with PR, I don't think the Coastal game was humiliating at all. Honestly, I've never been humiliated by what the Griz have done, but that's just me. And I still think the Western Illinois road playoff game was a much worse drubbing than even this year's NDSU game. But again, that's just me.

There will always be a certain group of fans who will never let the Griz live down losing to Coastal, and blame it on Delaney for not making it mandatory for some Griz players to where sleeves. Cause you know, sleeves would have helped the Griz tackle Lorenzo better. Funny thing is, plenty of Griz players didn't wear sleeves in the 95 semifinal against SFA or the 2009 semifinal against App. State. I wonder, had the Griz lost either of those games if sleeves would have been the focal point.

I noticed in the Viking game yesterday, which was the 3d coldest playoff game ever, that most of the Vikes weren't wearing sleeves. At one point, either on O or D, I noticed that only 1 player had sleeves. 88 year old Bud Grant wore a short sleeves polo shirt for the coin toss. I don't think any of the Vikings captains had long sleeves. Even many of the Seahawks didn't wear long sleeves.

"The temperature was announced as minus-six degrees at kickoff, making it tied for the third-coldest game in NFL history. The wind chill was announced as minus-25."

"Many Seattle players, though, followed through with their pregame promises not to wear sleeves, part of a week-long stance of downplaying the potential impact of the weather."

I don't think what the Griz wore had anything to do with the result of the Coastal game.

You guys must have the games confused with one of your "mathlete" competitions. The CC loss was humiliating, and they did hand us our arse. More embarrassing that the usual Traitorak meltdown vs CP. Maybe the most humiliating playoff loss in recent history, almost as bad as when CP kicked booby's ass in 05. The final score my not reflect it, but that was the impression I left with that day--they physically beat us up from the get-go. Probably the most "humiliating" thing is how a team from muther f***[*] Carolina was more prepared for the cold than our own team. I guess the griz must not have "executed" the game plan properly. HA! Thank god MickyD and Traitorak are gone.

Nope, the CC loss was not humiliating at all. A 7 point loss, 35-42. UM outgained CC, but just ran out of time in the comeback. The recent NDSU loss was many times worse than the CC loss.

You are so blinded by your own biases if you think that is accurate. I guarantee you nationally losing at home to CC by 7 was more damaging to our reputation throughout the FCS than losing handily to the eventual five time national champions on the road...

Actually, you are the one blinded by your bias. A 7 point loss is not humiliating. I "guarantee" you that your viewpoint on this subject is wrong. Ha.

I agree the loss to Coastal was not humiliating. The reason it was made in to a huge deal on e-griz at the time was because of fans saying how loud and cold wa-griz was and how it would effect ccu.

I'm just having a hard time with the folks who seem to think Stitt is terrible. I think this season was a fun one in which the Griz won some I didn't think they would and lost some they should not have. I also beleive the arrow is pointed up for the program and things could be alot worse. Stitt has done nothing to show that he is a bad coach yet a handful of posters make him out to be the worst thing to happen to Griz football ever. Why? is it because the guy you wanted didn't get the job? Real answers would be nice.

Why don't you provide some quotes or links for people who think Stitt is "terrible" and "the worst thing to happen to Griz football ever". I'm not recalling those things, but would like to see what you're talking about. If you can't find those posts, why don't you quote the closest ones to that that you can find, and then explain why/how you think they're wrong. Or, do you just want to admit now that you're making this up?

I won't speak for 75, but I like Stitt. That is why I said this earlier today, earlier in this thread. How's your reading ability these days?

"I'm fine with Stitt. I like him personally. I thought the first season was pretty good, although a bit up and down. I'm hopeful for the future. However, I'm not giddy like some of you; I'm more realistic and wait and see. I also know lots of people who have concerns. If Stitt can get more wins and advance farther in the playoffs, those concerns will dissipate."

Why are you a Stitt lover, or so positive about him?

I think it's pretty funny that the same people who can say the CC loss wasn't "humiliating", forgetting that it wasn't even a game at 42-21 entering the 4th quarter (and this after us leading 14-7 at one point, meaning we got outscored 38-7 through a LOT more than 6 minutes of "bad football") can simultaneously piss and moan about the Griz performance in their annihilation of MSU, which also wasn't a game but made to look better because of late scores by MSU. In NEITHER game did the losing team ever have possession with the ability to tie the game, but they sure look a lot closer than they really were if you just look at the score.

I agree with this. But the season as a whole was very promising and left me with a lot of positivity and expectation for next year

AZ, you don't get it both ways. It was a 7 point loss. If you want to ignore that and iignore UM TD's, then I'm going to subtract out the 3 TD's allowed in the last 6.5 minutes of the first half. Thus, without those, it was 21-21 entering the 4th quarter.

Why you need to make these threads center around your obsessions is a mystery. Stop making stuff up and you'll obviously be a happier person, and these threads can stay on topic.
