Recruiting QBs

So who gets the credit for McKay?

Coach V. McKay went 9 wins/2 losses and lead the country in passing efficiency for a part of the season. When McKay left V started the kid from Butte, same kid who turned down Bobby. It’s not easy recruiting quality, mentally tough kids and competition for qb’s is fierce. V has a good resume for qb’s though. Hope it continues.
McKay was exposed against us. Overmatched. You had to go another direction.

Mellot carrying the ball 32 times a game is dangerous. And I mean for MSU.

Agreed with both, and V went with the kid. Not Rovig, who had won playoff games. He and the team knew who could win games. If I told you MSU’s running backs are battered would you accuse me of making excuses? Tommy played to win. He had a dozen runs that were passing plays according to V & V acknowledged it was not the plan to run him so much. But….they beat Weber, got a bye week, and are getting players back. If they had to play qb #3 next week or if they just went wildcat, could nau do anything about it? But what do I know, I never played the game. 😆

Montana is your only remaining challenge; maybe more of a challenge than you think.

You underestimate me. Is it because I never played the game? The Griz are always the toughest game on the MSU schedule. Always. I've said here this year - the Griz are really good - and they're not dead yet. No one wants to see them in the playoffs. If they stuff the MSU offense things could get ugly....
