It would have been if App State would have won.Anytime I hear someone say "This Semifinal Game is the real national championship", I have to chuckle. We heard that exact line in 2009 when Montana played App State, and that the "winner" of that game was going to be the national champion that year.
We know how that turned out.
Hilarious. It would have been if App State would have won.
I think they have been more beaten than cursed.I’m just going to say until MSU shows that they are not cursed against XDSU they will probably not win the championship.
Exactly. Most of the losses the past few years have been just because they had the better teams. Although, Cats beat SDSU handily in 2021 and then one could argue it was bad luck Tommy breaking ankle in the first series - but also you could tell NDSU was controlling the lines so Cats weren't winning that one either.I think they have been more beaten than cursed.
The Cats do, but no one else in the Big Sky does. You'll see.No they don't.
Big Sky has no idea what great lines are most are average to maybe nearing good.
Thats not great
Ya, I don't think people that say that are following these last teams very closely. Of course I feel like the Cats can hang with anyone but I'm biased. So then look at USD, they are equal with the DSUs, beating NDSU and damn near beating SDSU in Brookings, losing by 3 in OT. So if the Cats beat USD Saturday maybe people will begin there isn't much of a gap at the top any more.Cats can go toe to toe with one of the xDSU’s. I think sdsu wins against NDSU but no way is that game winner a lock for the title.
Of any year for the Cats to be competitive (and beat) the Dakotas, this is the year. They haven't been that far behind, having been pretty much competitive the last few years (and let's not kid ourselves, Montana isn't that far behind either).
The Cats almost beat SDSU on the road last year. Beat the Jacks in the semis in Bozeman a few years back. Lost to NDSU in overtime on a blocked PAT.
If there's any year the Cats finally pull it off, I have to think this is the year.
Is this really poor trolling, or stellar ignorance? Watch any of the Cat's last 14 games this season on espn & turn the sound off. Focus on the lines only. Factor in that the Cats have lost starters each season on the lines to the fbs, yet they keep getting better. They went toe to toe with NDSU & SDSU last year. They're right there this year.No they don't.
Big Sky has no idea what great lines are most are average to maybe nearing good.

One of us will and I dont think its gonna be me. Idaho gave you guys all you wanted on the line, that should scream at you but you keep thinking your there and I will remind you afterwards. The Cats do, but no one else in the Big Sky does. You'll see.
That NDSU team’s whole offense is in the NFL. Guys like Christian Watson, Trey Lance, Hunter Luepke. That team could’ve beat most FBS teams.Either team would beat you like a drum. Just like they did last time in the NC
Pretty fair. Although I don’t see SDSU slowing down our offense if we have Scottre Humphrey back. He hasn’t been held under 100 in a real game I believe and we really missed him on Friday. The only way to slow our offense is by being able to stuff our run in base defense. I don’t think a single team has a good enough front 7 to slow down Tommy and company while being humble enough to watch the pass. SDSU is very good but they aren’t the same offense at all as last year but their defense is still up there.I think cats will win against USD at home. I think they have as good of a shot to win a national title as they’ve had in 40 years…but SDSU defense will slow their offense to 17-20 points and will score more than that to win it all. That’s if they see SDSU in the finals. If it’s NDSU I think cats match up with them better. SDSU is playing as good or better than anyone right now.
Somehow both schools held up just fine against NDSU last year. SDSU, obviously a different story. No they don't.

I’ve always wondered about that 2021 game which the cats won playing Rylan Ortt, who tested positive for PED’s. It’s interesting that the NCAA only punished the player and did not require forfeiture by the team which clearly benefited from his play. Hard to believe that somebody hopped up on PED’s is less of an advantage than a Griz player who was lent bail money for a day or Griz redshirts who ate hotdogs at tailgates.Exactly. Most of the losses the past few years have been just because they had the better teams. Although, Cats beat SDSU handily in 2021 and then one could argue it was bad luck Tommy breaking ankle in the first series - but also you could tell NDSU was controlling the lines so Cats weren't winning that one either.
Now the Cats have lines that hold up against the DSUs so it could be interesting.
Lame attempt.I’ve always wondered about that 2021 game which the cats won playing Rylan Ortt, who tested positive for PED’s. Actually Cat's lines held up very well against both NDSU and SDSU.Somehow both schools held up just fine against NDSU last year. SDSU, obviously a different story.
At what? It’s true SDSU lost to the cats who played with a performance enhanced athlete who failed a postgame drug test for banned substances he had admittedly been using since the summer of 2021 and the Griz beat msu in 2011 with a player who admittedly received an impermissible benefit resulting from a 1 day loan provided by a teammates family member. One team vacated wins, the other business as usual…hush, hush sweep it under the rug. You can’t possibly argue that a financial loan was performance enhancing.Lame attempt.
