Ramos into the portal

Our best defensive lineman this season was a first year transfer from NAIA. What does that say about the Griz strength program and development of players on the defensive line?
It says that there's talent in the NAIA and if you look you can find some gems. I'm actually kind of impressed the griz have 2 players in 2 years from Carroll. Its interesting thay for as good as they are, Noone is pulling anyone from Tech.

Also, a big surprise that Jerome doesn't have Northern playing at a higher level.

My comment was quoting and responding to discussion about scrapping the 3-3-5 and how that was not going to happen unless we get a different coach. Which is why I quoted a post that quoted an earlier post. It's not the first time nor certainly the last when a discussion takes a bit of a detour. If everybody had to stay completely on target with what the original post was, most threads would only be a page or two. And egriz would die. Lol.

All that to say that I don't disagree with what you just said. I don't think losing him is that big of a deal, but I do think hanging on to the 3-3-5 when it's obviously not working against teams like the cats is a big deal. Maybe now would be a good time to rethink it and change the plan, but I seriously doubt that will happen. Hence my comment to just get used to the status quo. That took far more explaining than I feel like it should have. 🤷‍♀️
Everyone knew what you meant…well almost everyone

He did exactly what I expected him to do, which was respond to your post and argue semantics while completely ignoring mine because he can't refute my points. The facts are irrefutable.
I don't recall what you posted. I tend not to look at much of what you post now, as I don't find it to be as good at what you used to post. Also, I like you, so I don't want to argue with you much. Would rather just ignore it or move on. I don't expect you or anyone to read my posts either. I know lots of people do, tho.

My response had nothing to do with semantics. Some you try to say things like that, because you can't refute or respond to what I have said. And there's nothing wrong with semantics

But, then that means the scheme isn't the problem, right? The players or execution of it is the problem. ISU's 3-3-5 defense did everything necessary to win that game.

I think there is a lot more focus that should be put on the strength training than anything else. You can recruit the best kids, train them in football skills and mindset, and coach them up on the scheme perfectly, but if your defensive line is getting pushed back with consistency and your offensive line isn't getting a similar push with consistency, then it will be hard to be the best in the nation.

With the 3-3-5, the Griz were pretty obviously a top 3 team in the country.

I really don't think the Griz need to completely scrap the defense and the recruiting when the team is THIS close.
Alright man. More of the same. Who isn’t signing up for that? Watch us lose to the cats some more. And not win championships. Cool. Sign me up.

For an attorney….your writing is dog shit.

He was saying we need to be critical of the strength program ran by a journalism major. I am not sure how you got signing up for more of the same out of that.

I agree with the strength coach sentiment. I’m also saying the 3-3-5 hasn’t won us a natty. And it appears to be easy for the cats to run over. We have multiple issues to address.

The 3-3-5 could have won ISU a natty and it was not easy for the Cats to run over Monday, especially in the second half. The difference is ISU’s strength coach has a kinesiology degree instead of journalism. ISU’s defensive front 3 are bigger and stronger than UM’s.

Well if we can’t develop a training program to make them what we need. Why are we not changing the scheme? The key here is change and it needs to happen in multiple spots. We also did not win the Natty when we had Gubner.

All schemes will look poor with poor personnel from a poor training program. On the flip side, all schemes will look elite with the correct personnel and an elite training program. If we change the scheme without addressing the strength and training program, the results won’t be substantially different.

Hauck has returned UM to dominance, pretty close to where it was when he was at UM last time. UM will likely be the no. 3 ranked team in the nation for this season. Beat SDSU, who beat the Cats this season, and beat 4 MV teams. Dominance doesn't mean winning the championship ever year. NDSU came close to that. UM has never done that, so that's not what RTD means. I don't hide from anything and never have. But I know more about football and Griz football than you do. You are clueless. Almost everyone on egriz knows that.
By this logic RTD translates to getting worked in the chipper
