Pride of the Program

I don't know when they will be on, but I have a feeling it will be during a game that is on ESPNU or Classic. I only feel that way because I really want to see it & I don't get those channels & that is just my luck.

They did Maryland yesterday so it should be coming up soon. there aren't that many teams in between Maryland and Montana in 1-A.

And now for tonight's Pride of the Program, a halftime featurette of ESPN's college basketball broadcasts, in which we highlight each of the 342 division 1 basketball programs in the country. Tonight: The University of Montana...

On January 17, 2003 over 7,000 fans came to Missoula's Dahlberg Arena to get a glimpse of Monte, the school's mascot who had recently been crowned the National Mascot of the Year. unbenkownst to the fans, there happened to be a grizzly basketball game scheduled concurrently with the veneration ceremonies. It is the only known occurence of a Division I sellout crowd being tricked into watching a basketball game by a man in a bear suit. And it is most certainly, the Pride of the Program.

It was a little joke by Mung.....lol

I bet a near-win over John Wooden's UCLA squad will be the pride of the program for Montana. What I wonder is what it will be for Montana State? I'm hoping that it's something post-1929 when the Golden Bobcats won the national championship.
