Pre Season Polls

Sure, one could argue that.

I could also argue Sasquatch is real.

Serious question, what makes you believe that the Griz have better talent? And Sasquatch is real.
There is actually more evidence for sasquatch than there is for God. I guess if you want to argue that Bobby is a god, then there would be more evidence for that.

Obvious the other coaches (most knowledgeable group to have votes, and have played the game to boot) aren't buying the RTD crap either

How did the predictions by such knowledgeable people turn out last season?

I know Bobby doesn't look at polls but maybe he should. He is basically getting little to no respect from the BSC just like a lot of Griz fans have little to no expectations for the football team. After last year why should they? I will say I like the coaching changes he made and I'm hopeful things turn around. Time will tell...

So after looking at the polls, what should he do?

Another sad day for Grizzly football, when the Big Sky coaches rank Montana #6 preseason, with the Bobcats #1. Respect among coaches is earned, and it is obvious that Bobby hasn't earned it. But, we all know that it takes time to RTD. Once he gets his players in place, and climate change is under control, we can expect Bobby to accomplish his promise to RTD.

Maybe, but it could also be argued that 5 teams have better talent than UM.

Sure, one could argue that.

So, according to you, if the Griz have better talent, then they should beat the teams who the coaches think have better talent. Or, maybe the Big Sky coaches don't think we have the coaching staff to finish higher than 6th.

The coaches recognize that with this poop conference, schedule is a larger determiner of success than talent.

Our conference schedule is much easier than several teams that the coaches ranked above us, including their #1 pick, the Bobcats.

So Hauck had big respect last year, but lost it this year?

Want to bet a $1,000 on whether Griz do better than 6th?

1. Preseason Champs: Montana State Bobcats

2-6. Any order: Vandals, gris, Wildcats, Aggies, Hornets

7-9. Any order: Lumberjacks, Vikings, Eagles

10-12. Any order: Bears, Mustangs, Bengals

What do you think Sixx would do if one of his two coordinators who are out on bail for DUI and/or destruction of evidence had a hearing on calendar that conflicted with a road game? Are they even allowed to leave the state with criminal charges pending?

A very fair question. So many unknowns with the Griz that it is tough to say with confidence they have better players than the other five schools. If there is one area it would be special teams. I also think the Griz running backs are way underrated. Lots to prove this year. I think sixth is a really bad prediction because of schedule alone. Also so many new HC’s. Rarely would you say the Griz are a sleeper team, but it appears they are. Fine by me. Polls mean nothing. They sure as hell put a chip on kids and coaches shoulders though.

I'm surprised I have to say this, but alas. Here we are.

Our backup Cs Udy and Daly are actually better than our 1s. You can't make this stuff up.

Not overhype his team like he does every year. Give Don Read a call and ask him about embracing an underdog role. Those are two things he should do. Smart guys like you and him shouldn't need dumb guys like me to tell you that.

He didn't overhype the team last season. There are recent threads showing what he said. None of it was even hyping, let alone overhyping. I was around him at qb club and socially, and I never heard him or any other coach come close to overhyping the team. I agree that you are dumb. So we have some agreement.

Gee, the "polls from the fellow Big Sky coaches mean nothing" crowd wasted no time in expressing their opinion. Of course, if the coaches had ranked the Griz first or second in this poll, they would have all been geniuses, according to them. Too funny. Reality escapes so many posting here.
