Pre Season Polls

Amazing how cat fans think both polls are accurate.

...just like Griz fans did last year...
Just like I'm sure the Idaho and UC Davis fans have strong opinions on the validities of both polls.

Is this 5 new coaches looking at last season’s results and saying ditto?
Not Andy Thompson. He well knows what he will be up against in Missoula.

The league coaches understand the MSU football program is performing at a different level right now. Last year the offense was pretty close to unstoppable, and will be better in 2023, with an improved defense. This team is built to take down the DSUs. We'll see how it all plays out.

Cue the jokes about dui's in 3,2,1..

That's pretty reasonable on the top end for the Bobs this season. The more I look at it, I see them at 7-4. I think they will suffer from some controversies, and I'm not even talking about the coaches' pending criminal cases.

SDSU stopped the Cats completely.

The league coaches knew the Griz were the best team last year until Johnson got hurt.

half way through the season the coaches poll will look completely different and the media poll will have us up a spot......

That frozen field, and wrong Cats' cleats had a lot to do with that. Just like when your QB gets hurt... sometimes things happen that cause you to get your asses kicked. Luck of the draw.

If they had the wrong equipment, that’s just bad coaching. Lack of supervision and inattention to detail by the HC. Maybe the equipment manager drunk-packed Vans for everyone, or something.

Fine, but the Cats were in fact stopped. And crushed. The Cats could have had perfect cleats and perfect field, and still would have been crushed. The Griz would have beaten SS and Weber with Johnson.

That's not really crushed. Being up by 40 some points late in the game and letting off the gas, like the Cats did to the griz in 2019 and 2022, is crushing. This game wasn't extremely lopsided like those two. The Cats' main problem that day was getting knocked off both lines, and D not playing well enough. Tommy threw some dimes that day and played very well.

So you consider the TE jump pass to go up by 41 and the follow up TD from RJ as letting off the gas??

I hate the could have, should have, would have. That is why you play the game and the best team wins. Regardless the cleats, injuries or weather. WTH? Seriously, everyone is now acting like they never played the game. No excuses. Put your best team on the field, give 100 percent and let the chips fall where they may. I suppose NDSU fans say they would have beaten the Griz if Wentz didn’t get hurt. Well he did and they lost. Then the Griz got smoked in the playoffs by NDSU. The one fair criticism of Hauck is that he never developed a backup QB and he is how many years into RTD? That is on him and that single position has been the Achilles heel of his teams. He better figure it out! Just like Sixx cannot figure out the recipe for the Dakota teams. Mellot makes a difference, but he is only going to be there so long and not sure Veggie is doing any better at developing the next generation.

SDSU was easily the best FCS team the Cats played last year, and will easily be the best team the Cats play this year. Everyone knows this. Weird discussion.

The Cats are striving to match the Marker schools and win a national championship, and again, the BSC won't provide much resistance this coming year. Coaches know it. Media knows it. In fact, anyone not posting on egris knows it.

Let’s bet $100 on outcome of Griz-Cat game in Nov. Or are you all talk?
