Where is the Stitt offense? It was present during the NDSU game and absent since! Brint you can cover the game and identify the obvious but, no offense is the problem! Nyguyen needs to be on the bench! Where were Jannsen and Horner? Every week this has to be identified. Over throws again. A broken tibulia, only a matter of time. No protection from O-Line! Joey Counts looking like his first game! The defense did outstanding! Piss poor offense is still the the problem!

And what about those long scoring plays the offense gave up to Liberty....dang offense

(I am not saying the offense doesn't have issues, but the defense did its part it losing also)
The defense can be very tough, but had costly letdowns and has had trouble getting itself off the field all year.

5. O-line protection waned in and out. Bad snaps, bad blocking… not good enough to win the game and in need of massive improvement. Late in the game with a long shot change the OL seemed as if they couldn’t block a soul, Chalich was running and throwing for his life.
To me, this was the biggest factor tonight by a LONG shot. Our O Line got WORKED. ALL. NIGHT. That Chima guy is a beast, very impressed with him.

Props to Liberty - they dictated the flow of this game much of the night, and especially right out of the gates.

We'll be fine. GO GRIZ!

Yeah looks like we rotated guards as the interior blocking was still pretty bad. Bad snaps at the worst time too.

Also espn3 sucked tonight. I don't think I was the only one having problems. Missed most of first quarter and sound came in and out.

fibula plus tibia= tibulia? Seriously, the offense is currently a mess. It is hard to understand how this can be the same offense that walked over North Dakota State. The trend is not good!

First off, I'll be screaming like a girl next week in the stands cheering on the Griz vs NAU.

My quick observations:

- That's the second game in a row where the Griz didn't help themselves at all. Left at least 10 points on the board with costly mistakes.
- our lack of an effective run game is allowing teams to blitz us like crazy and send our QB into panic mode. We need to run the ball somehow, someway or we are in for a long road
- Chalich played pretty well for the situation he was thrown into. But he also seemed to panic big time whenever there was any pressure. I felt like he could have tucked the ball and ran for 20 yards about 5 different times as opposed to the one time he finally did. Might not mind seeing what Simis can do
- if Brady is out with a broken leg I feel bad for him. That sucks. That game may have been different if he got rolling
- time to change the scheme or do something different in the red zone. Our offense looks anemic when we hit that area.
- learn and get better..... It's all they can do.

I really enjoyed hanging with you guys. We feel privileged to steal a W from your squad. Neither of our teams playd exceptionally well tonight. But I expect both of us to be back in the playoffs this year.

I'm wishing nothing but the best to the Griz the rest of the way.

I am anxious to hear thoughts from those who made the trip about our gameday experience.
hope to see you guys in the playoffs for some redemption!

Are we certain Crittenden is out for the season? Gus' injury has actually been confirmed, but I don't see UM's confirmation that Crittenden tore anything

Fibula is a floating bone behind the tibia(the shin bone)which is the weight bearing bone. He wouldn't be walking, or bearing ANY weight on tibia fracture. Stitt looks like Pflu, sticks to what he knows, even when he doesn't have the personnel to execute it. Inflexible, and incapable of change. He can't maximize the potential of what he has. Result, another sh*t season, by comparison to the mid-nineties to 2009 period. Apparently, the bye week was a total waste, except for healing time for injuries. "Stitt happens" has taken on a whole new meaning since August.

Not sure I saw anything about Crittenden being out for the season, but he was hurt enough to not play tonight.

That's due to the speed of your internet, not because of ESPN

Offensively, I am not sure what potential this team has no matter the style....

I'm worried about Chalich. I know there are Griz fans who think he'll be Montana's starter before the season is over. However, he lost the starting job at Idaho after being sacked 30 times in just seven games in 2013. That should concern anyone. The intentional grounding calls, bad snap exchanges, scrambling for negative yards tonight are all things he did at Idaho, as well.
It wasn't all Chalich's fault. The o-line sucked. But Josh McCain, who replaced Chalich was sacked six times in 8 games. Hopefully Chalich improves, but his college record hasn't been great.

You're right. But it felt like the world was conspiring against me tonight.

Fuck all of that! We lost a game we should've won. Liberty acted like the team that should be there, we acted like a team that has never been there before.

Liberty didn't "steal"anything tonight. Flat out outplayed the Griz on all fronts. Definitely need to work on their punt block though. Flames are a really solid team. Good luck the rest of the way.

Not blaming the refs anymore?....

We lost to two of three good teams. None of the losses were blow outs. New coach, system, QB(s). Dominance wont happen overnight. Things will get better, later in this season and in the next year or two. What did everyone expect given all of the variables?
Instead of getting tighter execution each week, it seems to have gotten a bit more ragged each week, not a trend I expected. It did not look like a well-coached team tonight. We need to be better against NAU who has kicked our butt bad the last two times.

I hear ya. I'm patient.

That is very interesting. Thanks for posting this. I was watching him wondering whether this had been an issue at UI. I remember sitting in the stands at Tennessee when JJ had his first start. UT fans were telling me we had a smart QB who knew when to throw it away or tack the sack. Several of them literally said, "At least you guys have a smart QB." I'm not sure I saw that tonight from Chalich.

For all that will say it was the OL's fault, you are mostly correct. However, even if you're in trouble every play, you have to know when you can throw it away by getting out of the pocket, or whether you should get down. If he's our guy from here on out, I hope he can learn it.

Disclaimer: It's been 19 years since I've played the game.

Couple of points:

1.It appeared the Flame's coaches noticed something about the aggressiveness of our DL that caused them to believe the hard count would be effective. Those offsides were costly. A first and 5 is a LOT better than a first and 10.

2. We are still trying to learn the offense. The teams we played the last 2 weeks know their offense and are able to prepare for our offense and defense instead of trying to learn their own system. We may have beat NDSU because we were an unknown factor. Now we're not.

3. Anyone that thought that there wouldn't be growing pains is a special kind of stupid.

Like Brint, I will be there screaming next Saturday.

Go
Griz!
