ranco said:It was a good win against a quality opponent. The fact we got the win with three turnovers (one pick 6) is a testament to the tuff ness of this team. While I realize JJ was under a lot of pressure, he struggled. He under threw a number of passes and the 2nd INT was a pretty bad over throw - granted he was under pressure. It takes a good team to win a game when you do not play your best. The Griz are a good team.

I'm sorry but a team with a 4-6 record is not a quality opponent...

Honestly I could not believe that they had Takai running out to take the swing out of the backfield. How many times has anyone actually witnessed a DT track down a running back in space......crazy calls![]()

It was a zone blitz...send the linebacker(s) and one or more linemen fall back into coverage zones. Recall we picked off the SFA quarterback a couple times with this scheme in the 51-0 2009 quarterfinal playoff win. The linemen aren't supposed to be man to man, the design is to have the pressure force the QB to make a quick decision w/o realizing someone is occupying the blitzer's area.
The quarterback defeated the scheme by swinging it out to the flat. Takai was simply running to the ball from his zone drop. I agree he really shouldn't be expected to make that play in space.

I disagree. They beat UNI (who just beat YSU). Took YSU to the buzzer. Hell, they played NAU closer than we did!![]()

Their defense is really good but their offense is what holds them back..

If you were to believe some on eGriz, you apparently DO get to this record without doing ANYTHING right.

Agreed. And our team is probably just the opposite. So are we not a "quality" opponent? They are really not far from being a good team...and they're a much better team with Neal at QB than whoever they had before.
really, who is better, a 4-6 team who has had good opponents or a 8-2 team who has played cupcakes....the W/L does not always tell the complete story, cant entirely judge a team by that. Thanks BW for this thread. Many want to focus on the negative, so it is fair game to discuss the positive, which this team has a lot of ! I, for one, love this team....Go Griz !!AZGrizFan said:grizcountry420 said:ranco said:It was a good win against a quality opponent.
