Would the Cat's loss to EWU play into the deal?

It could, but only if both teams finished with the same records. I'd have to check, but I don't think that's possible at this point.

Could somebody tell me why the EWU/MSU came was considered a non conference game?

With the unbalanced BSC schedule, we don't play MSU in conference this year or next. Montana and PSU are the two teams we're gauranteed to play every year. The MSU and EWU AD's have agreed to play each other in years where we're not scheduled in conference. I like it - it'd be silly not to play MSU every year.

With the last tick of the clock ending the Bobcat game it'll be time to mercifully close out Griz Football 2014. There's something terribly needy and pathetic about all the straw grasping by folks who can't deal with us not going on the road in December to get our butts handed to us by some unfamiliar former DII school that won the championship of some distant conference you need Mapquest to find. Haven't we had enough embarrassment already this season?...Neither the team, the school - or GrizNation needs it...There is always next year you know - which could be good or "deja vu all over again" depending...think hope and change like BO said once upon a time...particularly change...

Quite a few do. Thinking the Griz deserve a playoff spot even if we win the last 2 games proves that point quite well. The MVC should get 4 or more and the Big Sky should get one maybe 2 if Idaho St wins out.

You should concentrate on learning the game, and not being the biggest jackass on the site.

NAU most likely will win the auto-bid, so there's 1.

EWU is already a lock for the playoffs and will earn a seed if we beat PSU in two weeks and finish at 10-2. There's 2.

The winner of the ISU/MSU game will get in. That's 3.

And there's still a chance for a 4th team.

Lots of football to be played yet, but the BSC a 1 or 2 bid league? Bahahaha.

Just comparing teams in BSC, then you have to compare your resume with others at 8-4 if the Griz win out.
Griz 5 D1 wins now, could end at 7
Griz have not beat anyone with a winning record in D1, could get one with a win against MSU
Lost to EWU and CP in the conference.

CP 6 D1 wins now, could end at 8
CP has wins over two D1 teams with winning r ecords, and could end up with 3 or 4
CP has head to head win.

ISU has 5 D1 wins, could end with 7
ISU has wins over 1 D1 with a winning record
ISU defeated Cal Poly who beat UM
On a 5 game win streak could end at 7

EWU has 8 D1 wins, could end with 9
EWU consistently in the top 5 of polls (even though the only poll that matters is the weekly by the committee)
EWU has wins over 4 D1 teams with winning records
EWU has a win over UM and MSU

MSU has 6 D1 wins could end with 8
MSU has wins over 1 D1 team with a winning record
still has head to head with Montana

I believe if GRIZ win out, they become the 4th team from the Big Sky. In the end, ISU's two wins against Simon Frasier & Chadron State will look worse to the playoff committee than Griz losses to NDSU, CP and EWU all of which will be teams in the playoffs.

Listening to committee members later season trends are more important than early season.. How is the team doing in Committee Polls which we don't see.

I see a little of teams fighting for the last few spots and I haven't thoroughly looked at all resumes.

While the play of all teams is important in the final 2 weeks, another big factor is always the upsets. When there are late season conference upsets, which cause a lesser team not likely to make the playoffs to become the conference auto-bid winner, then the better team (but runner up) often/sometimes makes the playoffs. The result is that lesser conference sometimes end up with 2 teams instead of just the auto-bid, reducing available slots for the non-top teams in the better conference. Even UNI's win over NDSU could have this impact, as UNI might not otherwise have ended up with enough wins to make the playoffs.

I'd take this. This is legit. And, I'd love a second shot at EWU. We were in Cheney yesterday, and a couple bounces, a couple GOOD calls our way and the outcome could have been different.
