Kennesaw State won their conferences auto-bid, so you can't leave them out of the playoffs. If Monmouth had beaten them yesterday, both teams would have made the playoffs, which would have likely eliminated Northern Iowa.
I didn't know that about Jackson.
I also didn't know Kennesaw "won" the "conference". Groan. Okay, lets see how their soon to be #4 ranking holds up next weekend against the auto bid Davidson, who aren't even getting votes in the poll.
For what it’s worth, the Ivy’s, who take up two top 25 slots, also don’t take part in the playoffs. Their con has always taken the stance that playoffs interfere with finals. Mercer and Rhode Island are the only other options in the top 25. Mercer did not win any games outside the disrespected Southern Con but barely lost to ETSU and RI did win against FBS(cough) UMass but two tuff losses to other CAA con “contenders” Maine and just this last Sat Elon, pretty much did them in. Elon May have had an argument with some of their conference wins but their loss to Wof, their tuffest OOC FCS matchup, probably dashed their hopes. UNI can thank their playoff invite on being members of what many FCS “experts” consider the tuffest con in the league.
